Working Star replied to NeilWatson's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
I'm 5 miles from track and there has been no sign of rain. Hope that helps -

Well if it helps at all, the weather in Lynn today is glorious. Warm, sunny and perfect for speedway -
Johnno's Testimonial
Working Star replied to Beeone's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Gemini, I'm sure the Lynn fans will be delighted to contribute some carrots. Maybe in return you could send the product of the horses to Lynn as it has long been known as Compost Corner -

ELRC - Change of venue
Working Star replied to SCOOBYDO's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Very well said. IMHO Garry's meeting is far more important and if there is any way the familys shifts can be co-ordinated we will be there. CTF any publicity for Garry's meeting is fine by me -
ELRC - Change of venue
Working Star replied to SCOOBYDO's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
With all the adverse comments about Jonathon Chapman I just wonder what would have happened if the same "technical" difficulties, whatever they might be, occured and meant Sheffield could not stage the ELRC and JC had not stepped in and offered to stage the meeting. Imagine the uproar then For the record, it really doesn't bother me where this meeting is held as I have no intention of attending. I'm treating it with the same amount of disdain as the EL riders treated the fans for the last few years -
Premier League Best Pairs
Working Star replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
If you are expecting a reply on the forum, I doubt he has even seen the post. I'm pretty sure if you email him, you will get a reply. I doubt he makes the rules up himself so it's entirely possible that the powers that be ain't decided what they are yet -
I am not against freedon of speech, but a boundary has been crossed in my opinion. So would you prefer censorship of anything that some members do not agree with? By leaving the postings where they are everyone can see what kind of mentality the poster had at the time of posting and judge that member accordingly. For the record I think they are very sad wishing harm on a fellow human being, but we have freedom of speech in this country and thankfully on this forum too. That freedom gives you the right to bring to everyones attention the stupidity of that particular post. A post that most people probably read, thought stupid pr*t and instantly forgot.

How were your seats
Working Star replied to Bomber04's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We also had people smoking near us 3rd bend, middle tier, but a quick word with the stewards soon sorted it out. We were in an air horn free zone but one fan behind us was using one, nothing was said to him AFAIK but it didn't bother me or seemingly anyone else. -

Am I alone in remembering how many riders had van breakdowns en route to Scotland in "the old Days". The PL works fine with the northern tracks now because of tours involving 2-3 matches, if one club went into the EL solo (supposing they were mad enough) the same thing would happen again IMO

GP Qualification Final, August 17th, Poole
Working Star replied to bartosch's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
According to the preview in today Lynn News Programmes are £2.50. That IMO is a reasonable price. If they are £5 I shall not bother buying one. -
