  1. Yeah he'll no doubt find some way to deflect the attention
  2. Think you're being kind to Worrall with that description. Emotions are obviously running high because of the collision between Robbo and Lasse but that move was nothing short of dangerous. What makes it worse is that Worrall doesn't seem to have learnt his lesson.
  3. Worrall strikes again!

    Redcar 2015.

I'd take Konopka, Skidmore and Graversen from this year's team. Konopka is clearly a confidence rider and has shown more than enough to be worth taking on a 3.00 next year. Skidmore is Mr. Consistent. Graversen suffered after that Rye House crash but before then put in the scores you'd expect from him. It was a shame he came good again right at the end of the season when it was too late. I wouldn't mind if Summers came back but i think a fresh challenge is probably best for him. I'd take Lawson but think he'll be elsewhere. Wilko doesn't do it often enough for me, same with Lemon.
  5. Nothing meeting, average performance, poor racing (other than one or two heats). Roll on 2015.

    Darcy Ward

I agree. I hope he'll get the book thrown at him but I have a feeling that he will get off relatively lightly.
  7. A nothing meeting between 2 sides with nothing to ride for. Got a Sheffield promotion which seems to be rebuilding and a Redcar promotion which nobody has any time for. Can't imagine too many people being excited about this and the return leg.
  8. Bears Lawson - Plenty of rumours about him being unhappy behind the scenes and, if those are to be believed, he has probably done as well as can be expected. Skidmore - Very, very solid and has probably improved his passing ability this year. Probably underrated by many. Wilko - Entertainer. Sometimes goes too hard and messes up when it's better to sit and take a second or third but I suppose that's what makes him good to watch as when those moves do come off they are exciting. Done what I expected at the beginning of the season. Lemon - Looks quite slow when out in front. Nothing more than an ok second string these days. Summers - Not changed too much from last season other than maybe winning 1 or 2 more of the big races. Graversen - Solid reserve. Can be a match winner but we don't benefit from him at reserve when he's only making up for the 1 or 2 we carry. Konopka - Tries so hard and over the last couple of weeks has probably deserved more points than he has been paid for. Needs to sort out his gating.

Redcar V Berwick (pl) August 7

My view on the Pijper incident was that he was all over the place going in to bend 1 causing Vissing go out wide and fall. Don't think there was contact but I'm struggling to remember just how close they were.

Redcar V Berwick (pl) August 7

My point was that both situations were identical so either exclude Edberg and Jensen in their respective heats for both being the causes of the falls or exclude Konopka and Summers for both going down easily. For what it's worth, I also thought the same as you about both. The referee excluding Jensen made me wonder why he didn't exclude Edberg when he pulled the same move. I'm not sure how he can come up with 2 different decisions for 2 identical situations.

This was another case of a ref failing to show consistency. Konopka went down in a similar situation in heat 2 but was excluded instead of Edberg. It would have been nice to see the ref either exclude both Berwick riders or both Redcar riders in those incidents. By excluding Konopka in one and Jensen in the other the referee invited criticism.

I think any sort of win for the Bears tonight would be a good result as a lot of those Bandits go well around the STMP consistently (not many don't!). The Bears need the Jorgensen of a couple of weeks back to go well and Graversen HAS to fire to have any chance of winning.

    Cheating In Speedway?

I've noticed more and more at Redcar over the last couple of seasons riders going through the tapes on purpose to make a change or have a rider going off a statistically better gate. Sometimes it's obvious that a team will do it. I (along with others around me) predicted that Williamson would when Scunthorpe visited a couple of weeks back and, sure enough, the tapes were broke. Coincidence? I seem to recall a meeting vs Workington a while ago that saw both sides doing it.

Who Will Make The Playoffs ?

Yeah, Bears' chances look pretty slim as we're carrying at least 1 passenger in all meetings. As someone said earlier, it looks like any chance we had of success was lost when Kozza's visa didn't get sorted.
  15. Would definitely be an experience watching 7 falls, 14 2nd/3rds, 7 wins and a couple of tape exclusions over the course of 15 heats
  16. For me, Wilko should have won that a lot more comfortably. I understood the need to go wide on lap 1 because he was side by side with another rider but laps 2 and 3 he should have kept low instead of allowing the opponent a chance to ride the inside line and therefore a chance to get in front. Rose was allowed to ride his line because he had 3/4 of the track to himself. If Wilko was closer to the white line from the start of lap 2, Rose would have had to think and I doubt he would have got that close. Don't get me wrong, it's good to watch when it comes off, but he does take a lot of unnecessary risks.
  17. Good result considering we lost Blackbird, someone who would have ensured we got maximum points. Poor team managing yet again to put Blackbird in that race he crashed in and to have Konopka going up against Bach and Lindgren later in the meeting rather than in the heat before. Thought Rafal looked a lot better than his 2 points. Glad the lads all stood up to the challenge. EDIT: Spelling

    Redcar V Berwick 29 May - Off

Yeah, someone at Redcar or the BSPA were slow in that regard as it was on Twitter before 12

    Redcar V Berwick 29 May - Off

Not too disappointed that this is off. Weak team and that track must still be soaked through after 36-48 hours of constant rain that only stopped in the early hours of this morning. Would have been a struggle to get it fit enough to produce good racing.

    Redcar V Glasgow 24/4/14

Very entertaining meeting and glad to see Wolbert and Pijper get up after that horror crash in heat 13! For the Bears, great to see Konopka gating well in a couple of his rides to pick up a good score as he has proven since he arrived that he has the pace when out. Lawson looked sluggish to start but picked up whilst I think we're benefitting from Summers not doubling up this season. Graversen and Skidmore did their jobs whilst Wilko looked good again apart from that daft mistake when he ended up in no mans land coming out of the last bend in heat 9. Crang poor. For Glasgow I was really impressed with Berge who seemed to run out of steam in a couple of rides. Showed good track craft a couple of times when switching lines to gain on opponents. The lad looks like he will go far. Wolbert looked quick, probably too quick. I liked the look of Nielsen whilst Pijper and Harrison were hit and miss. Lemon was awful. I thought the decision to exclude Crang in heat 2 was a shocker. Thomsen clearly nudged him to get the wide line and Thomsen showed all night that that's where he wants to be. He needed to mix it up a bit as the wide line doesn't work on every bend and every straight of every race. Good to see u get maximum points as Glasgow certainly put up a good fight. I agree. He looked very quick when chasing so if he could get the odd gate he'd be turning these 4 point hauls in to around 10 points.

    Bears Sign Davey

Davey did his job last night. We can't be expecting a rider on his average to do much more than 3-5 points at home - it's up to the heat leaders to take the pressure off the reserves.....not heap it on.

    Redcar V Workington Lc 10/4/13

Boring meeting in terms of proper racing with Bach providing the only genuine overtake. As I have said before, I wouldn't have had either Kus or Ostergaard back so the embarrassing performances from them last night weren't surprises. Very impressed with Skidmore and Dyer whilst Summers looked like somewhere near his best. Hopefully Wilko can produce the goods at reserve for us if/when Dyer move up in to the top 5. For Workington, I was impressed with Bach during his programmed rides but was surprised he never got closer during heat 15. Lawson disappointed me as he's usually hotter out the gate but I thought Harrison and especially Aarnio were positives for the Comets. I wouldn't have minded losing last nigh IF the racing was decent so, it was a good job that the comeback warmed us up rather than relying on yet another poor Redcar track to help produce excitement.

Looking forward to seeing Howarth and Morris tonight. Again, think it will be a close one with a lot depending on which Ostergaard turns up.

    Redcar 2013

Yeah, looks like Screen is in. Can't see it being a wind-up.....or am I giving them too much credit in assuming that they'd surely be able to think of something better/funnier?

    Redcar 2013

Wouldn't have had Kus back last season and wouldn't have him back next year. Sometimes doesn't seem as committed as he should be and misses meetings and that costs us points. I expected Summers to go and wouldn't have been too bothered if he did go elsewhere but he's in the team so not much more can be said. Glad to see Wilko in and would have Doolan, Dilger and Mudgway back in too. So, a team of Wilko, Summers, Dilger, Doolan and Mudgway plus 2 new faces would be my choice over having Kus and/or Ostergaard returning.
