  1. Phil Morris has a pretty good track record of getting meetings on... unlike British Speedway! There are people that want to see a GP held at the NSS, if they think that they're going to pick up a ticket for the same price as those at Cardiff they're living in cloud cuckoo land, it's simple supply and demand economics... and like you say everything in this country pretty much costs double what it did a few years ago. Dreamboat Phil will get these meetings on, whatever the conditions
  2. The situation Birmingham are in lies completely at Tolley's door, with p155 poor rider selection, that anybody with an inkling of knowledge of the sport could see wasn't up to the task of even being competitive in the PL, Brum are going to face tougher tests than Leicester at home, it doesn't look good for them. Before the season started Tolley was claiming that he had 6 or 7 riders to "choose" from and when he announced the riders he had chosen just about everybody predicted this kind of performance, especially now Nicholls has moved on. Maybe @Col is correct in thinking that once everybody has an actual average a wonder signing will be made that will make them into title contenders as the title is won in September/October and not March/April... but looking at the make up of Brum teams over the last few years I doubt very much that this will happen I think you may have hit on something here, it must be very tempting when your riding on the continent in your shiny new race suit with the Union Jack emblazoned on it and covered in sponsors, with a impressive support team around you to think you've made it! Maybe he is, the sport needs these kind of riders to survive though, not every rider is going to "make it"
  3. 012.1.3 2 Minute Time Allowance Except when the Referee considers that there are valid reasons for delaying the start of an ensuing heat, the interval between the finish of one heat and the start of the next shall not exceed 4 minutes including the 2 minute allowance. I'm pretty sure that 2 consecutive rides does not constitute a valid reason for delaying the start, unless the rider has damaged his bike in his previous ride or something similar , of course this does leave it open to interpretation from the ref. I have heard it announced over the PA in previous seasons that the referee has left the maximum amount of time and all riders are on 2 minutes, so I don't think it's anything new.
  4. I think there's a maximum amount of time allowed between heats, 4 minutes or something
  5. The start marshal has 1 too many "L"'s on his back
  6. That's the trouble when in the past you've called meetings off based on forecasts and it's be alright and then on other occasions they've decided to run when the forecast looks horrendous... punters will start making their own decisions on whether they think it'll actually go ahead or not in the absence of any set procedure for clubs to follow. For what it's worth I think Leicester (or any club for that matter) should be applauded for getting meeting's on.
  7. The forecast I'm looking at looks marginally better than this but Phil Morris really needs to look at introducing some kind of formula for cancelling meetings. Leicester have called meetings off in the past on better forecasts than this and a lot earlier, yet this is still on. I'm currently on holiday in North Wales deciding whether to come home early for this... and don't think I'll bother!
  8. Heats 1, 5, 11 & 15

... oh, and don't forget to call Birmingham, you must get it postponed!

Now look Northern Nancy Neila, I've seen an updated forecast, and can now see why they've cancelled it, still a bit early for my liking, 26 hours before tapes up. But you seem determined to have a scrap with me by coming on here calling me Mr Negative like some crazed adolescent school boy. Now I want you to do 100 lines, "I must stop being an overly aggressive Northern Nancy Boy"... and type it out, no copying and pasting!

    Jason Garrity

I'm surprised his van started after being idle for 5 years!

I don't know, I'd have to see if there were any regs and what they were, what are they in Manchester? You better give Birmingham a call and tell them to call their meeting off too!

Can you explain them to me please?

Nothing negative in wanting to see a meeting on... I know how much you northern softies (northern Nancy's?) are frit of the weather though The forecast does seem to have changed since I last looked at it earlier this afternoon though with a big blob of weather now due at 7pm
  15. I assume he's hoping for potentially 4 5-1's as opposed to only potentially 2 with Fricke and Douglas riding at 1 and 5.

    John "Tiger" Louis R.I.P.

A bit disrespectful, reports from several tracks that John's passing has not been commemorated
  17. Maybe because they're still kids and the dummy comes out of the pram a lot easier at their age? Although, I'll admit, Coles is no kid
  18. Worky are a massive unknown, with 3 new riders to the country and 2 who, I think it's fair to say, have blown hot and cold in the past. They really could finish anywhere, storm the league in a canter, or cut a drift at the bottom of the league, for me it's what makes them interesting to watch and keep an eye on. On last nights showing, they'll be a force to be reckoned with.
  19. You seem obsessed with men's helmets!
  20. I don't think so, I was commenting on his attitude pre the match starting, it was there for all to see. Fair play to him, when he could see there was absolutely nothing wrong with the track he knuckled down and brought home the bacon.
  21. He had a face on him like a slapped arse, said the track was iffy, something about they should get Swales back to do it and then just walked off and had to be dragged back by Roynon to do the coin toss... real inspirational Captain stuff!
  22. Is Roynon not riding CL this year?
  23. Yes, it's the lowest form of wit.
  24. Great win for the Comets, especially after a dodgy start. Once the newbies got dialled in there was no stopping them. Cook did well to get his head back in the game after his pre-meeting comments and Batch on it too.
  25. You only read what you want to! Did you see Cook's interview prior to the meeting?
