Amazing how many people know what Scott should be and shouldn`t be doing. It would have been wrong what ever he decided to do, this is Scott Nicholls we are talking about.90% of posts on here are are to put the man down but how many have 100% correct information. This will blow over and then somebody else will be in spotlight for the forum bashing. If i was him i would be asking myself why this season has turned out like it has and its not all about how he didnt start the season here, his bikes look slow.
  2. Fantastic meeting, Thats how a speedway track should be prepared. I think team GB did really well, and i am slagging there efforts as they all tried so hard last night but it made me realise it really was men against boys. How far behind Poland,Australia, Denmark are we? A few comments have been made on here about Scott not being there last night. What would have been the point? Chris Harris had been made Captain, there was enough people with experience like Mark Loram etc about. It wouldn`t have been fair to Chris Harris either in a way as if this is the way foward then bomber will want to do things his way. You look at Jason Crump, Leigh Adams, Greg Hancock they are no spring chickens are they. Scott is 31 and has many seasons left in him but what way back now. in the team ? captain? I have mixed feelings about Scott being left out of the team, on a personal level a bad world cup may not have helped him and he would have been to blame i am sure for us not doing enough but on the other hand its kick somebody while they are down, not to be even in the team and him being in the team or not isn't going to change anything, we are years beind some other nations and this is no quick fix by any means. It makes me laugh when interviewed riders (and footballers)always go on about what a great team spirit they have and things have never been better......say anything they want us to hear.
  3. There are ways to discuss anything my dear friend, the way its done is another matter.

I havn`t time to read all 11 pages so sorry if this has already been mentioned. This situation kind of reminds me of the England football team, New manager starting and making headlines with the changes made?? I hope this works out better for Rob than it did for Steve....I can see the reason for Scott not being in the team, whats a bad world cup going to do to him?
  5. Have they put the under 15`s forum into this post? A complete joke of a discussion going on ,....grow up!!!
  6. Like many British sports people i think the one`s who are more highly thought of are the people who nearly make it. Once you make it to the top the knives are out, David Beckham had it Lewis Hamilton had it last year but now people are behind Button more. Once they get to the top then people want to knock them down again soon enough.
  7. I am also of the opinion that this was his last season to give it a real go, ok it hasnt worked out so far. I would like to see him stop them after this season, the time, effort and expence for what in return. The top boys are set in stone and cant see any change in that. He can ride over here then, do poland or where he likes and sit back and enjoy his speedway again.
  8. Alot of people got the result they really wanted, seem just as pleased that Scott struggled than for Bomber who won the meeting. I am sure Scott can and will turn his form around, he hasnt become a bad rider overnight and people on here have there own opinions but i am sure that the only 1`s that matter to scott are of them close to him.
  9. From what Scott Nicholls said in the speedway star he is using last years bikes so maybe thats a good thing....Both him and bomber have to show what they are made of and i think you can be sure they wont hold back. Just a quick question though !! If Scott and Bomber finish in the top 3 will it stop people having a go at them and there form in the gp`s?? course not ...
  10. Not alot but it goes to show even after a really crappy nights work and all the negative posts on here that maybe Scott Nicholls is just a genuine nice bloke trying to earn a living and be a decent father to his child. I am sure he wants to go infront of the sky cameras and score 1 point. The interview in the Speedway Star was intresting, If he doesnt himself then people close to him read this forum as he said about all the crap that gets written about him on here. He did what he thought was right when he gave the EL a miss, everybody else was jumping ship left right and centre and he knew he wasnt near the top guys so to give them an added advantage would have put him further back in theory. I doubt he had much time to make his mind up what to do, also as i said before its not all about Scott Nicholls now, he is a dad and maybe thats took something away from him.He has a few years speedway left in him and i hope after this year he stops the GP`s. Let somebody else be the next British flop for you to all moan about. And on the point he should ride in England...........If i was in Scotts shoes i would tell British speedway where to shove it, he was left out to dry by not only the BSPA`s silly poiints limit last season but more so by Coventry.Promised a job then its took back..to do that not only to your captain but after a season he gave in 2007. Funny how there isnt the same influence on the Bees team since. The last piece in the interview says about loyalty and how it works both ways. How very very true.
  11. 2 rounds down and the best Scott and Bomber will be trying for now is qualification for next seasons gp`s. The longer this goes on the more set-ups they will try and then they take risks that they dont usually take. We would all want them to do well, Scott has more pressure on him as he gave up the british scene to concentrate on the gp`s. It was Cardiff last season before they won a race, could be the same this time .I hope they can turn it round but this could be 1 hell of a long season for them both.

    Race Card For Leszno

Scotty & Bomber in heat 20........ I hope both make it round 4 laps and end up in semi`s.
  13. I can only agree with the above post, Coventry in the 1st half of the season had no leadership in my opinion and when heads dropped i just dont think bomber has the personality to lift others when he was going through a bad spell himself. As for the problems between Scott and Bomber is that they are both to blame and should get there heads banged together and put this childish act behind them. They are our top 2 guys and its no example to be setting to youngsters in speedway and those who watch speedway.

    Scott Nicholls

Chris is a sure starter for the GP next year, and the GP series was over many rounds not just Saturday so the finger cant be pointed at Scott for Chris not getting the points to automatically qualify.
  16. Well well, another chapter in the Nicholls/Anderson story !! I am 100% backing Scotty again, was it me or from the angle showing them going down the straight why does it look like Hans Anderson has piles or bad wind as he was leaning over a fair way for some reason or is that his new riding style? On a serious note, Ole or somebody needs to sit them both down and try and sort there problems out before they put each other through the fence. Hard luck for last night Scotty, would have been an intresting season if Hans had started the season in the gp`s, sure Crumpy isnt to unhappy though.
  17. He obviously likes the attention, maybe he wants an acting job in the winter and he`s going to use his dummy spitting incident as an audition tape ? Fair play to him he is riding well this season , but he just has one of those faces you rather not look at.
  18. Thought we did quite well after the blip of going 7 races with was it 2 or 3 points in return. Apart from Scott you are never quite sure what you are going to get from them could be a stunning win or a last out of the gate trail round for four laps kind of ride. At the moment we don`t have the quality of the other countries, so for the next 3 or 4 years its a case of making the most of what we have got. oh, what about King Kelivin for next manager of GB??

    Hans Andersen

In my opinion i thought it was a silly move by Hans and it was a good job that Scott knew what hans was probably going to try and do to him. It looked from a certain angle they showed last night that Hans came across the track very sharply and the way the back end of the bike came across infront of Scott made the move look planned, Scott was hard back on Hans but left him room. I wouldnt have not shaken his hand after that move to be honest and the reason there is bad feeling is due to what Hans again did to Scott in the same competiton a few years back. There is hard racing & fair racing then there is putting somebody in a position where they see there life pass before there eyes, the past two weeks has made us wake up to the dangers of the sport more than ever, you put yourself in Scotts position last night !! and maybe the 2 other riders behind him !! I just hope that when they meet on saturday they both ride it fair and the best rider wins.
  20. Hi All, Going to Cardiff for the 1st time, any suggestions on parking ?? is it a nightmare to get out of cardiff or is that just when the stadium is full?

    Bees 1996

Know what you mean, stuck on the sofa mug of tea and spend the day watching "the good old days", done this myself many times. Usually start with the 88 video then i`v got a Tommy Knudsen video and alo the world of sport from 1983 when we beat the rivals Cradley 40-38. Going back to what you said about the track, i still dont like the new Brandon track. The old one was made to look huge and the grass on the centre green (now centre tarmac). They should have left it how it was as there is no track advantage anymore but no the dog track i there that will be the design now till the day they shut the doors for good.

    Rick Miller

As Tommy`s thread has gone off track alittle i thought it would be a good idea to start one for Rick. Be good to hear peoples memories and stories about Rick and when the man himslef gets chance he can share a few of his own.
