How about Knutsson in 64 and 65 and Briggs in 66, Mauger 67 thru 70,Olsen in 71 and 72
-
I'd say Fundin for 62 as well-agree with unbroken run for Ove 56 thru 63
-
After in depth review of Stenners for 1951-I hereby change my vote to Young from Lawson
-
I vote for Langton in 36-agree with all the others thru 50, then Lawson 1951, Young 52 and 53 , Moore 54 and 55.
-
I agree with Warren for 1950, agree also with 46,47,48 suggestions-wot about 49 tho??
-
I retract my comments for 1937-Jack it is,I guess we are all agreed on Bluey for 1938-so what about 1949-don't think it should have been Tommy-how about Jack Parker??
-
1937 should have been Cordy Milne-more consistent than Jack or Wilbur!!!!!!!!!!
-
Saw all those riders except Peter Craven and Len Silver-what memories. All welcome guests at Somerton Park-never got to Brough but saw the wonderful Diamonds team of 64 and 65. By the way in 64 I think Newcastle had the largest number of riders in PLRC Final-Ivan, Bill Andrew,Ken Sharples and Pete Kelly.
-
I agree with Michanek for both 73 and 74.

No problemo third man-would assume Harwood went to great speedway track in sky long time ago-anyone know about Harwood and when he died-think he rode primarily for Leicester?Apologies if Harwood is still with us.
-
Thirdman, I think it was Harwood(not Hereward) Pike
-

Did Alf Elliott ever ride for Wigan??

To me Long Eaton will ever remain "The Archers" -if Station Road returns I will personally come over from Canada to attend-and have some fish and chips from that great chippy. Also liked going into a restaurant called "Banner's Farm Fare" for egg, sausages and chips-there was one in Beeston also-Is Banner's Farm Fare still going???. Good old Vic White still lives in Long Eaton-great guy!! I miss English sausages but now a chain of pubs in Toronto sells Palethorpe's-the bangers, beans and mash are superb-if you are reading this Tigertom-its the Firkin chain.

Sorry,mervjankefanclub-haven't seen a UK meeting in years-sometimes go on youtube-so let me get this straight-its now Red,Blue, Green,Yellow-why the hell did they get rid of the y/b-I liked r,b,w y/b- can't they stop tinkering with the old ways when did these changes occur??Its ridiculous. P.S. Don't knock the sauce-as Oscar Wilde said"work is the curse of the drinling classes" Hic!!

Must be thinking of your big sister!!!

I would have to say Norwich in my case. I started going to speedway in 1964-their last year and I had heard so much about this track and Ove's exploits and also about the dedicated fans. Now I will never get the chance. In 1964 there were 7 NL tracks-over the years got to the other 6 but not Norwich. Was it out in the country or in a district of Norwich-guess either way they would have run special buses.Anybody else have regrets about other tracks they didn't get to???
-
I didn't ralise Goog Allan had died-he was quite young wasn't he-anyone know??
-
Can't believe no -one mentioned Rim Malskaitis on this old (and long ) thread(he was a very tall rider also)!!!
