    World Champions That Never Were

I retract my comments for 1937-Jack it is,I guess we are all agreed on Bluey for 1938-so what about 1949-don't think it should have been Tommy-how about Jack Parker??

    World Champions That Never Were

1937 should have been Cordy Milne-more consistent than Jack or Wilbur!!!!!!!!!!

    Top Riders In The 1960's

Saw all those riders except Peter Craven and Len Silver-what memories. All welcome guests at Somerton Park-never got to Brough but saw the wonderful Diamonds team of 64 and 65. By the way in 64 I think Newcastle had the largest number of riders in PLRC Final-Ivan, Bill Andrew,Ken Sharples and Pete Kelly.

    Long Eaton

To me Long Eaton will ever remain "The Archers" -if Station Road returns I will personally come over from Canada to attend-and have some fish and chips from that great chippy. Also liked going into a restaurant called "Banner's Farm Fare" for egg, sausages and chips-there was one in Beeston also-Is Banner's Farm Fare still going???. Good old Vic White still lives in Long Eaton-great guy!! I miss English sausages but now a chain of pubs in Toronto sells Palethorpe's-the bangers, beans and mash are superb-if you are reading this Tigertom-its the Firkin chain.

    Happy Birthday Swindon Speedway

Must be thinking of your big sister!!!
  22. I would have to say Norwich in my case. I started going to speedway in 1964-their last year and I had heard so much about this track and Ove's exploits and also about the dedicated fans. Now I will never get the chance. In 1964 there were 7 NL tracks-over the years got to the other 6 but not Norwich. Was it out in the country or in a district of Norwich-guess either way they would have run special buses.Anybody else have regrets about other tracks they didn't get to???
