I didn't 'choose' to. That is the full article as posted this morning: http://www.thisiswiltshire.co.uk/sport/sportheadlines/10279908.Robins_believe_Batch_saga_is_over/

So what exactly does this mean: SWINDON Robins believe the winter-long saga surrounding Troy Batchelor has come to an end after he was named in their side for 2013. The Elite League champions announced the Australian as part of their side on March 2 following the passing of the agreed Elite League signing deadline on March 1, which allows any unsigned riders to move on. However, there has been confusion as the move has yet to be ratified by the BSPA. ... From Swindon Advertiser this morning.

Oh!!! The article seems to be more about Nick Morris though than Troy.

Perhaps Swindon were hanging on to see if they had to purchase Batch before deciding on the admission prices!! -
It's a 'one size fit's all' suit.
-
If the latter, presumably there will be an agreement to pay in installments.

Speedway Attendances At Brandon

I think that is a bit harsh Villiers210. Love him or hate him, Matt Ford has always been considered to be good at promoting Poole Speedway but even he is finding it hard to replace a 'lost' sponsor. It aint easy!! -

Your'e welcome Gem. John Boulger was a favourite rider of mine from Leicester - always seemed to be a nice chap and fair rider. Yes, H&S will definately be the reason the capacity has reduced. Recognise any of these Leicester riders from a reunion in 2010: -

Aggregate scores from the programme was 93-63 (see below) so the score at Leicester must have been 35-43. Probably got that wrong again!! -

Found my programme last night and a look at the scores confirm what everyone (except me!!!) was stating! Copy below: You will notice the cost of the programme was 25p. Normal programme prices in 1979 was 15p. Admission prices: Pop enclosure Adults £1.70 child 85p. Main enclosure £2.20 child £1.10. No mention of concessions (SCB would have been pleased!) -

I don't think it was Gem, but it was definately packed. That was the most people I have ever seen inside Brandon. I was watching Coventry v Cradley televised meeting last night from 1985 and I was surprised how many there were in the crowd. -
So you can't loan them then!
-
..........and if it is not necessary to buy riders, can you explain how a team can loan a rider?
-
Lions v Tigers on 30 March sounds like a good meeting - I might come across for this meeting and start me gang!!
-
It's not a 'borrowed team', it's the way speedway works in this country! I didn't realise Troy was fluent in Polish.
-
But how does speedway survive at £10 if that means the promotions lose money.......and probably quite a lot of money. That would only work if you can cut your costs accordingly and I don't see how that can be done easily.
-
All car dealerships offer contract hire as well as selling the car outright. The dealer will usually make more money doing a contract hire deal and probably sell another car at the end of the contract. Maybe this is where speedway is going wrong?

Getting a bit off-topic now, but I like the photo with Molly watching the sheepdog trials on TV!!
