Gotta admit I'd be disappointed if Ipswich drop down to the PL, I rather enjoy my Bank Holiday trips to Foxhall, I don't often get chance to travel to any away meetings short of Ipswich or Coventry and the crowd at Ipswich are considerably better than the crowd at Coventry!

Harder, but much easier when you can fiddle your averages enough to bring in a Number 1 in place of a 4 point reserve!

The track wasn't the problem tonight, not in the slightest. Yes it was deep but not as deep as it has been in the past and to be honest it was no deeper than it should have been, Buzz and Norbi used the dirt to great effect and we know that Niels can also. With an unbiased head on only 1 Coventry rider truly impressed me tonight and that was Sweetman, everytime I have seen him ride he looked nothing special but he really performed well tonight. As for the supposed disaparity in reserves that really didn't show up tonight, 9+2 for Norbert compared to 10+2 for Pawlicki the so called wonder Pole and Bridger combined. As far as the result goes I have to say I'm not all that surprised to be honest, Bjerre and Iversen have both proven that they can't take the pressure and Rory hasn't exactly been flying as of late. Well done to Coventry though, you can only beat what is put out infront of you and they looked like they wanted it a hell of a lot more. Oh well, at least I have the Ice Hockey now!

Can't see the track being slick at all for the meeting. The track was lovely and deep and grippy at the start of the season and the team were flying, Norbert and Mat both seem more comfortable in the deep dirt and Buzz can beat anyone round the showground with a bit of dirt down. Making the track deep and scary will definately improve the Panthers chances, Harris will probably be the only one who will really benefit from the extra dirt, Previously Kasprzak has looked rubbish when the heavy dirt goes down and most Poles struggle at the Showground with heavy dirt so I can't see Pawlicki being as all-conquering as the Coventry fans seem to think he is.

Annoyingly it has been looked at before but I believe due to the banking on the outside of the track on the backstraight and 3rd/4th bends its not possible. Admittedly I have a lot of Bias but I do think that Peterborough is one of if not the best race track in the country when prepared right and its a little bit gutting when you make a small trip down the road to the Greyhound stadium which has considerably better facilities. Their big problem is the showground though, they won't be able to get the showground to spend any money on the place and its very hard doing work on something which doesn't belong to you

Nice of you to only quote part of that sentance to back up your point. I cheered because Rory got out of shape NOT because he fell off. I also cheered when Zorro pulled up to let Stead through and had done the same a few times at Peterborough this season when opposing sides riders have pulled lockers to allow one of our guys through. Just because a rider is out of shape or pulls a locker doesn't mean that they are going to fall off, Rory was just unlucky enough to pick up more drive when out of shape which flicked him off the bike. My views on the majority of young Aussies is fairly well documented and I stand by them but to be honest Rory is one of the few Aussies that I actually like and will get behind. He has always seemed like a good lad and not an arrogant little tool. I wish no rider injury, even the riders that I truly dislike of which Rory is definately not one.

I was stood with Silverbee and SCB and we were cheering for Tero all night, How could you not cheer for someone who is a premier league reserve riding in one of the biggest meetings in the world and actually mixing it pretty well? I admit that I cheered when Schlein got out of shape much the same way that I cheered when others did during the night (like Ward etc) but I didn't expect him to fall off the back of his bike and go into the fence like he did, The last thing I want to see is a rider get injured and a Panthers rider at that! We weren't cheering that Rory crashed, we were cheering that he let Tero through, Though unfortunately some very rude people jumped to conclusions and decided to yell abuse at us.

How about Lakeside then? Small tight track and EL riders will have ridden it regularly. Frankly I'd rather see good racing and for the final 2/3s of the meeting tonight Kings Lynn provided it brilliantly much like Peterborough last season. There is no denying that with Crump and Adams riding it would have been a different prospect but the Aussie team was designed around Kings Lynn specialists tonight and the Brits did a great job of beating them.

Absolutely fantastic meeting! I've got to admit I went into the meeting expecting the Aussies to walk away with it and for us to struggle to keep on terms with the Swedes but the Brit boys really stepped up tonight, If Harris, Nicholls etc had ridden like that at Cardiff then it would have been a much happier night! It was great to see the arrogant Aussies get knocked down a peg though, looking into the pits you could see Ward, Holder, Smith etc messing around while the Brits were actually getting their heads down and concentrating. Oh and I apologise to Rico if he thought the people on the 1st bend were booing him after one of his heats, we were actually booing the Aussie who was riding next to him (I think it was Ward)

I can't believe some of the posts I have read on here! If a rider doesn't go into a meeting Believing he stood a chance of winning then he may as well not turn up. So much of Speedway is about confidence, you need to believe in yourself to be able to throw yourself round those corners at the speed they do. I've never been a fan of riders like Barker and Bridger purely because of the way they conduct themselves off track but its this arrogance that gives them the belief in themselves to make them ride the way they do and they would be nowhere without it. Jerran is a fantastic prospect who is currently overflowing with confidence and rightly so after some great performances last season. I wouldn't put him in with people like Barker though, I've never seen or heard of him causing trouble and only ever heard good comments regarding his behaviour and team spirit.

If you think Harris was bad for that then get ready for Holder, It wouldn't surprise me if he turned up for GPs with a hangover.

I didn't see Cam Woodward go down but Bomber certainly wasn't fenced, he just lost control in the dirt
