In his book Harry Findlay said he paid 1.5m for the lease to run greyhounds there and lost the lost. He also said he could have bought Brandon Stadium at the same time for £2m -

The Ochiltree's also sold Leicester speedway for development previously -
I was there that night. Certainly had the crowd on their feet
-
Look up Mike Parker then I think at one time he was involved with 13 clubs and without him there would probably be no speedway in this country today
-
They are not landlords at Foxhall Stadium they have a lease there Foxhall Stadium is owned by Ipswich Speedway Limited
-
Quite an easy answer to that which is a Speedway meeting is much, much dearer to put on the a stock car meeting.
-
You are indeed correct it was Lea Bridge It had Colin Watson and Ron Johnson in it
-
Why are Ipswich doomed when they have not even announced their team yet O ye of little faith
-
I just wonder is Tai would have would have got more of a mentioned if he was not bedecked in tattoos and looked a bit more like Bruce Pennell
-
Looks like Kings Lynn will be the weakest of the three East Anglian teams
-
I would think you would need at least 5,000 punters to pay for those three
-
Great night for betting though-the night most bookmakers stopped betting on non televised meetings
-
The speedway track was Walthamstow

Where do you get your information from . Professional tennis has never been run by the players so why print such rubbish -
Please can we have no more postings about Jarek Hampel coming back to Ipswich as it is never going to happen

An ex world champion

There are many promoters in Speedway that have run more than one club at the same time and have done well
-
I too have gone for Somerser @1 85 with 10.5 start. Possibly Robert Lambert and Jason Doyle scores will cancel each other out and Somerset reserves look much stronger For individual scores Jason Doyle looks good at +2 Against Robert Lambert on 365 @ 5/6 or you could take Robert Lambert @ 1.97 off scratch with Betsafe but sadly they will not take a lumpy bet on this

Ken Le BRETON --known as the white ghost

But he had qualifying rounds at Belle Vue and West Ham (Which he also won) to get to Wembley in 1950

Under the old World Championship the most successful rider was Freddie Williams with two world championships and one runner's up. But then it was open to all riders and not like today when it is only a few are allowed to enter
-
Something is jumping out for me is the lack on Bookmakers laying odds on tonight's meetings. Must be first time William have not put up odds for a live league match. Betfair who make a market on nearly anything have not laid anything since the first GP. So a big night for British Speedway and we have 5 bookmakers laying odds .There will be either none or only Bet 365 next year

I would think that last night's heat 13 in the best I have ever seen in Speedway

Hats off to Max Fricke, Colin Cook , Jason Doyle and Jack Holder and also the track curator Has there ever been a race without a crash that all four riders have led at anyone time. Any other races to rival this -
I think the new track will look like Reading's does today
