Why are Speedway admission prices extortionate? For a night out at Belle View for my wife and I would cost the best part of £50 really....I don't think so. No wonder the terraces are empty re: Quest speedway coverage. As is the case in society the only ones who can afford these prices are pensioners. Speedway turnstiles will be looking like Waitrose on a Thursday morning.

The Theatre Royal  in Norwich has the 85 year old  Engelbert Humperdink doing a one and a half hour show for £62.50 . and part of the act will be mimed or perhaps even all . That's what you call extortionate. Some of the seats are even dearer in other theatres to see him. Then there will be another £10 for a programme

  2. The individual world finals were always at Wembley. This competition was set up by 7 British promoters which included 6 from London clubs. The profits were then put back to the UK clubs. Where or why did all this change .  Surely they had a monopoly like Darts and Snooker has where world finals are always held in this country. I am sure Len Silver would have some of the answers

  3. Tonights Witches   V  Belle VUE  Could this be another draw

Kemp at +2 against Tom Brennan  looks good as Tom Brennan not scored more than 3 points in a match plus Kemp will get at least one extra ride

2 out of 3 which was my minimum expectation before a wheel was turned tonight although one wasn't under good circumstances. Would've still come in though imo.

Best wishes go out to Rory Schlein.

but you had six bets so how could you get 2 out of 3

  5. Signing in to Bet 365 I was given a free bet on England v Germany so I had £5.00 on no goals

Then I had £50 ON Peterborough to beat Kings Lynn @ 5/6  When I placed the bet it said you can have a free ten pound bet, so I had another £10 on the Panthers.

Tonight I have had £5.00 bet on Czestochowa v Gorzow on a draw and they said you can have a free £10 on England v Ukraine so I went for a draw on 90 minutes play @ 7/2

A  bit better than Sky Bet ,Bet Fred and Bet Victor who will not except any bets off me

Foxhall capacity limit is 2000 at present Mick

Aside from that you are correct - a meeting at Foxhall today wouldve attracted at least that figure without restrictions

So do you think there was under 2000 for the Belle Vue match and if so how many Would you seriously think the management would say that our 2000th customer so shut the gates And how would anybody know how any were there

  7. It will be interesting to see what odds Bet 365 will put up for Belle  Vue at Peterborough. Normally a team that draws away would be around -8 at home but I think 365 will go around + 4 to 6 to the Aces.

Wolves v Ipswich perhaps + 8 for Ipswich

    A little unfair to criticise Eurosport for their scheduling. There would have been a meeting this week if the weather hadn't intervened, they can't be blamed for that. Next week is the start of the French Open which will take up both of their channels which is fair enough. After that there is currently 6 meetings in 7 weeks scheduled;

    • June 7th: Peterborough - King's Lynn
    • June 14th: Sheffield - King's Lynn
    • June 28th: Ipswich - Wolves
    • July 5th: King's Lynn - Ipswich
    • July 12th: Belle Vue - Wolves
    • July 19th Wolves - Ipswich

The French championships will still be playing on the 7th of June yet they can put Speedway on then

I've never really understood that , most other sports  publish attendance figures, football clubs brag about how many season ticket holders they have , Cricket Counties can tell you how Man members there are , yet in speedway the figures are more guarded than the Crown Jewels

The figures given for attendances at football matches have nothing to do with how many people are in the stadium.. Many times teams like Arsenal have quoted figures as a full house yet you can see it is not three-quarters full as many clubs include season ticket holders whether they go to the match or not.
