    Darcy Ward

It's not "legal" to drink alcohol and race. Alcohol is on wadas antidoping list and if you get caught you should get punished.
  2. You rarely see top professional sportsmen in very physical sports drink alcohol like crazy during season because it's going to effect their performance. I think that in speedway you can often get away with drinking without it having a big impact on your riding. But the big difference between speedway (and any other motor sport) and most other sports is that alcohol is prohibited during competition and seen as doping. And the reason for that is pretty obvious. Even though you might even benefit from using a little alcohol to calm your nerves, relax and get the courage to drive a little more bold, there is also big risks involved. You lose your good judgement and are prepare to take higher risks, maybe even drive a little bit careless and reckless. But you will not only endanger your own safety but also the other riders on the track. A professional speedway rider owe it to him self an all others involved in the sport to be well rested and sober when competing. And even if it been a few days since a rider have been out drinking, we all know that it takes a couple of days to get back to "normal" even though you are completely sober. And not nearly all of of know at what rate our bodies burn of alcohol. Two people that drink exactly the same amount of alcohol will be alcohol free at different times. Some people will literally take days to get completely sober. This is why a competitor in motor sport should stay off alcohol as much as possible during the season. It's not only that it absolutely never look good to be out drinking heavily during season, it's that you never really know when the alcohol has left you body, and what effects it will have on you even after it's left. You might feel good and think your fine but maybe it makes you take an unnecessary risk or lose your concentration for a moment and someone gets hurt or even killed. Speedway is and will always be a high risk sport, but at least the riders owe it to be well rested and as prepared as they can be. There's no need adding to the risks by drinking.
  3. For one thing young fans read the internet you know, and this story is all over Polish media. You really don't think young fans of his know about his partying habits? Off course they know. Also everyone, remotely close to speedway know about Darcy's partying, it was known well before he hit the news. I knew about his partying long before you could read it on line, and I have never been out parting at the same time as him. I was at home sleeping when this happened and I still know.
  4. Except Darcy is a professional sportsman and a role model to many young fans, and his choice of sport is MOTOR sport where huge amounts of alcohol really doesn't belong at all. And on top of that he has found him self in trouble with the law recently. I'm not saying that he's not allowed to have e few drinks or party or what ever, but he should choose his occasions carefully during season, keep his clothes on, keep of harassing the ladies, use the toilet for his needs and make sure no one is taking pictures. It's really not that hard to behave like an adult.
  5. You can always use goggle translate Jacques. Link1 Link2
  6. yes but he's not the one that has been in trouble with the law recently. They're not doing anything wrong but Darcy sure isn't doing his image any good, drinking like that in public.
  7. maybe Darcy should lay low for awhile? http://torun.naszemiasto.pl/artykul/galeria/1815415,skandaliczne-zachowanie-zuzlowcow-unibaksu-mistrz-swiata,5042943,id,t,zid.html#galeria
  8. Well because it's highly addictive, just like smoking. He now makes a living working for a company making snus, Swedish Match.
  9. Snus is tobaco that you put under your lip. Ever seen Tony Rickardsson? Ever heard of Swedish match?

    Peter Koij - Ice Racer

RIP you will be sadly missed!
  13. If you read some decisions from the environmental boars regarding Gubbängen you can also see that it is only one couple who is complaining. They sent a letter with their complaints regarding the noise at Tuesdays, they couldn't even be in their garden because it was so loud. It was just that Bajen had their home meetings on Thursdays, when the complaint was made.
  14. Pedersen said that they were life threatening and Crump has said that it's ok for him to ride alone on the new silencer but that he is scared to race with 3 other people on the track at the same time. Greg Hancock tried the Prodrive in the autumn 2009 and said that there were no problems at all. He then later took that back when he opened his engine in the spring 2010 and it was destroyed. All of them are against the new silencer but say that they won't protest since they've signed an agreement to ride on them in the GP:s.
