    Heathens Announce New Signing

so why do they come to England ,is it because other countries do not wont foreign riders in there lower league's, as it stops the flow of there own talent coming through, and some of the English promoters don't give too hoots about there young British riders,

  15. Heathersfield Line Up Announced (Posted 24/10/07) The full line up for this weekend's Heathersfield Gold Helmet has been announced and in addition its been confirmed that the crowd will have the added entertainment of 4 of the youngsters on the 250cc's. Firstly the line up for the Heathersfield is:- Gary Beaton Obviously the Tigers fans know Gary and what he is capable of and he will be out to try and prove a point with one eye on a possible reserve berth for next season Wayne Dunworth A well known name especially in lower league circles, he made the semi final stage in last years event. 'Dunni' has given a lot to speedway especially in helping the youngsters develop and is obviously the 'old hand' in the line line up Johnny Grey The Northumbrian youngster has ridden this season for Newcastle Gems in the Conference and was also part of the Berwick Borderers side who narrowly beat Sunderland Stars in a conference challenge at Shielfield last month. He scored 4 points on his visit to Ashfield earlier this season with the Gems Mark White A product of the Northside training track, Mark rode mostly for Northside in the Academy this year. He was part of their academy team who rode at Ashfield in July but was plagued with bike problems that day. John MacPhail Another rider well known to the Tigers fans his last appearance was actually at Premier League level when he rode at no 6 for parent club Berwick in the league meeting at the start of September. He has made a few appearances for the Giants in the Academy League this season. James McBain Most people know James, he has only recently returned to racing after a long lay off through injury and will be keen to test himself in this meeting. Adam McKinna Adam missed quite a bit of the season through injury but the Newcastle reserve will no doubt fancy his chances of doing well. Kieron Morris Another young Scot who has had a quiet season. Kieron went very close last year, going out in the semi finals. This season he has ridden a few meetings for Boston in the Conference League but was injured in their meeting at Redcar at the end of July. He also rode in the Conference Challenge meeting at Berwick last month, top scoring for Sunderland Stars John Morrison Another Berwick asset who was a member of the Giants squad for 2007. John was rather bizarrely named in Berwick's 1-7 when they made team changes at the beginning of September despite being injured the previous week riding second half at Berwick and not expected to return in time for the end of berwick's season. Cal McDade Current holder of the Scottish Junior Championship as the top placed Scot in last season's Gold Helmet event. Cal had a slight crises of confidence mid season, quitting speedway for a short while, but he quickly returned to the saddle and has been one of the most improved riders over the last year. Ricky Lee Beecroft Another youngster who has had a go at reserve for Berwick! Ricky is a well known face round Ashfield, regularly appearing in second halves and captain of the Giants Academy league squad. He missed the latter part of the season due to a broken wrist. Guy Kendrew An ex-trials rider, Kendrew certainly impressed when on Academy duty with the Gems earlier this season. However he has struggled a little in the Conference with Stoke Spitfires. If he shows the same form he did on his last visit to Ashfield however he will be in with a shout. Reserve for the meeting is Glyn Picken. In addition there will be exhibition races on the 250ccs from Dale Lamb, Reece Naylor, Marc Owen and Brendon Warvill. Those who stayed back for the last 250cc demonstration rides in August were impressed with what they saw from Dale, Reece and particularly Marc. It will be Brendan's first visit.
