I agree Racin but lets be honest, there is no way that they would vote for that as there is far too much self interest.

    Corona virus

We normally have so many blank weeks and supporters want fixtures every week, teams will just have to ride Monday and Thursday to fit them in, if we get any racing at all. Time for a independent person to do the fixtures to stop self interest.
  3. Well done to the team last night, how I would like Scott back full time alongside Rory, gives us so much strength in the latter heats, Mark Riss has been inspirational since his arrival (long may it continue), whilst Nico continues to pull out one superb ride a week, just a shame he cannot gate a touch better. Lakeside were a little unlucky certainly I was expecting a minimum of all four back in the race that Adam was excluded in. Great Ben fund collection. All we need now is for Cameron to start getting in the points.
  4. You can never really tell from Nick Morris, what he will score at Foxhall as he has had good and bad meetings, can't believe that R/R will weaken the Hammers. I live in hope that we pick up some positive points from the next three meetings but honestly can't see it. Hopefully next season, we will have more fixtures and regular Thursdays and sooner or later a cleaner run from injuries, but please no more track changes, the side needs to learn to ride the same track season after season and gain some home advantage.
  5. In answer to stewmac, yes i was part of the group behind you in gorzow. They did a great job getting it on, would never have happened in the uk.
  6. Just back from Poland, where we enjoyed 3 full (Gorzow, Rawicz and Wroclaw) and the lodz two heats being among the small number in what will be an impressive stadium when finished. I suspected that the lights didn't work when they were not put on when it began to rain heavily. Wroclaw was the best meeting of the three especially the races involving Leon Madsen. Cracking atmosphere there and at Gorzow. Rawicz was a new track to me and I really enjoyed it despite the heat and I wouldn't hesitate to visit them again.

    Ipswich v Redcar 19/7/18

Previous years, we have had riders sign and have photos taken at the entrance before the start of the meeting, with the school holidays coming hopefully Chris will do the same this year. I personally believe kids should be free throughout the season with an adult (but I don't haven't to balance the books). The engagement with the fans needs to increase (personally I would have had the post match interviews that the Club did with Kevin Long in the early PL days back but riders like to disappear as soon as the meeting is over for various reasons). Also I don't think his replacement is up to the entertaining questioning we had back then.

I agree it is a disappointing fixture list but that is due to the numbers agreed, we do need to start with a challenge v ex Witches possibly and we should always have a John Berry/Billy Sanders Memorial but these type of fixtures don't make money. The new fixtures don't help the lesser riders with regular speedway and I think we will lose more by not staging regular speedway - it was part of the problem when we were in the top league (along with a poor team). Hopefully we will find some fixtures so that at least some of the Reserved dates are used. Maybe if the fixtures were arranged centrally and not with such input by the promoters of the two sides, we could have had more league fixtures instead of reducing them purely on cost and the inability of some teams to arrange their fixtures evenly. Finally please no Wayne Bavin, Foz is actually better than him. Rob Chandler would be better.

I know that they did try offer money off for season ticket holders at other tracks in the early 90's (I think most of the southern NL ones) but I think it wasn't administered very well by the tracks but with less fans around these days - anything to attract the visiting fan is worth a try.

I would only like to go up if we can actually make a realistic attempt to win the league, if we haven't got the funds to compete, I wouldn't want to loose the regular meetings for infrequent fixtures and a return to the last few years in the top league. I would rather stay in the league below especially with Lakeside potentially joining for another local fixture. if they go for fixed race nights and its Thursday, I suspect we would have to look at moving between nights if we stayed in the same league, in recent seasons we have ridden on Wednesday to Saturday's anyway.
  11. Hoping for a good match and a home win, doubt we will get the aggregate win, but like others the failure of a decent replacement for Covatti may come back to haunt especially as only Kyle and the two reserves can take r/r. Would happily see Scott back in our colours next season.
  12. Hoping for a home win tonight, Mason should cover what Justin would have scored and hopefully the r/r rides will get what Kyle may have scored. You can never tell with the Panthers what you will get, though Wilson-Dean is a miss, Starke has been good and bad in the past, Holder and Ostergaard tend to have a few good races and a few bad, looking forward to seeing Holder as I suspect this will be his last season in Panthers colours. Harris is always entertaining, whilst Sarj is an improvement on Lambert even though he looks a shadow of last season's witch. So if all the positive Panthers turn up it could be close if not it maybe down to Harris to limit the damage.
  13. Good performance by most of the witches, atmosphere was good, crowd looked above average. Harris was a good guest for Workington and should lead the threat for Peterborough next week. The Heeps v Proctor races were very good whilst Newman's pass to join King for a 5-1 was also pleasing. The reserves did there jobs and Rory came up with the 5-1 with King to secure the points in Heat 13. If we can pick up a couple of points over the weekend, we should almost be certain for the playoffs.
  14. Well done to the Monarchs, obviously disappointed to throw away a lead but we do seem to be doing that everywhere now. Certainly not everyone was at that their best tonight and I know that I was wrong about Theo in my comments earlier. Fair play to Sedgman for playing his part in Monarchs win and with the cut off for changes there is no way he won't be in the team for the rest of the season. We just have to find a way to beat the Tigers next week (the team I thought who might stop our unbeaten home record). I think 1998 was the last season we were unbeaten at home all year. Hopefully Glasgow will turn up with a full seven and not be strengthened by having R/R for Lunna like the last two visits, we may still make the playoffs just need to get back to winning ways on Thursday (we won't get anything positive at Ashfield) and pick up some points on the road.
  15. Providing the weather stays fine, I expect a meeting at least as close as last time, Masters and Wells go well at Foxhall, Pijper is not as bad as being made out and if Clegg and Pickering gate they will also cause problems and who knows how Erik Riss will perform. I will be happy if we just get another home win.
