Transponders and qualifying times introduced in GP’s in 2019
Gambo replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Interesting point raised by Jim Lawrence (SCB Chairman) at the NSSC last night. 8 years ago they trialled transponders at an Ice meeting where Jim was the referee. In one race a rider crossed the line doing a wheelie and his transponder was too high to trigger a response to/from the under-track wiring (Receivers) -

Those are the dates I was given, but I have no idea as to the reason behind the Friday staging at Leicester. -
Have Lambert as the U21 Rider with Bewley at No.2 to Woffinden.
-
The point is that SOME referees keep a track of race times on their (printed) match programme, it is their preference and not mandatory.

I think the main complaint about riding at No.1 is the fact that tracks are generally watered during the grading process. As for your second point, I'm not sure what you mean, as all riders use their Personal number anyway. -
It would be possible to tweak the layout to include Race Times, but the directive to include them officially has to come from the SCB.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the Spreadsheets. The two spaces below the Heat Number are for recording the number of re-starts per heat. First space is for Re-Starts (Starting Offence) the space below that is for Re-Starts (Other- Falls etc.)
-
That is up to them if they note them down somewhere, but there is no provision in the Official Spreadsheet to input race times. Have a look on the SCB website where you can download completed meeting Scorecards/Programmes
-
The Referees do not make note of the race times in their official Match Programme.

Leicester v Redcar BCS 30.03.19

It also doesn't help when visiting Heat Leaders are un-competitive, for whatever reason, scoring just 7 points from 8 rides. -
There have been a couple of enquiries on different topics in the EL Section about Rolling Averages and so in case I've missed any similar in the PL Section, below is a brief explanation of how they are calculated. Rolling Averages are calculated using two seasons results (2010 & 2011) to a maximum number of matches equal to the total League Matches for the current season. (2011 EL=28 Matches/PL=38). As the details of each 2011 Meeting are added, the race details from corresponding meeting in 2010 are automatically discounted from the calculations. If a rider completed 29/39 or more matches in 2010, the Spreadsheet automatically only uses the last 28/38 meetings from 2010 for calculations. If a rider completed less than 28/38 matches in 2010, then all of the 2010 figures will be used up until the total number of matches (2010 + 2011) exceeds 28/38. Riders on Assessed/Converted averages will maintain that average until they have completed 4H & 4A. All other riders' Rolling Averages will be effective no matter how many matches they have ridden this year with the usual 23rd of the Month cut-off date. The first revised Green Sheets are due to take effect on May 1st. By the end of the season, a rider who completes 28/38 matches in 2011 will have a Rolling Average that would consist of just his 2011 scores. ATB Dave

4.58 for Somerset in 2018.
-
Have I missed something there? It looks like all 4 back for the re-run!!
-
The race format will be as listed above, but modified to reflect the current situation where the No.1 goes off gates 3 or 4 in heat 1. A couple of other gates have also been adjusted to give riders a ride off each gate. (Apart from the Reserves who may only get 3 rides in the meeting). The new Regulations are available on the SCB site (Downloads)

How was that cheating? No rules were broken? It was sour grapes from the promoter who got out-Forded!

I have just seen on the BBC F1 site that the driver with the Fastest Lap time during the race will receive an extra (Bonus Point), providing he finishes in the top 10. Could Speedway eventually follow suit with a fastest Race win BP? That could make the Qualifying/Practice times more crucial in choice of starting number. -
Nothing happens.. he is OK until he is 19.
-
The way I read it is that anyone under 19 can be absent for ANY reason....
-
The weather is looking pretty favourable too!
