The new (20 Match) averages will obviously not come into play until May 1st, and the first few League matches will have a bigger influence on averages than in previous seasons. ATB Dave

    Rolling Averages

Elite & Premier Leagues will now only use the last 20 League matches for 2015 updated Green Sheet calculations. As has been in the past, I would expect the first Issue to implement any average changes will be for May. (Apart from if there are any prior issued GSA's if Assessed/Converted average riders pass the 4H & 4A match criteria prior to the 21st April cut-off date.) But I guess that looks unlikely in the space of just 4 weeks. ATB Dave

    2015 Euro's

I'm reliably informed that the scoring system has been changed to 3-2-1-0. 21 Heats plus two semi-finals and a Final. A 3-3 result in the S/F (and Final) would see the team coming 2nd & 3rd going through to the Final (declared Winners) Tournament points allocated by most points scored in meeting: 10-8-6-4-3-2-1. The Referees and Promoters do. As I have mentioned elsewhere, I would expect it to be put in the public domain after it has been ratified at the SCB Seminar 21/22 February. ATB Dave
  10. Maybe having to wait until Visa issues are sorted before he can announce some riders? ATB Dave
  11. I was wondering that myself. If it does, maybe a get-around would be for meeting organisers to ask the respective promoters to 'nominate' Joe Bloggs etc to represent the club at the meeting? ATB Dave

    Is This Score Possible?

17.11.4 A Rider in the re-run of a Heat where that Rider was not disqualified and is unable to take part due to injury or damage to his/her motorcycle, in which case assumes the status of the Rider being replaced, e.g. in the same helmet colour, gate position, as a TR (and the possibility of double points), even if s/he has already taken a TR ride. Is This Score Possible?

A Reserve replacing an injured TR rider 'inherits' the TR role in that race. ATB Dave

    Is This Score Possible?

Last season (when there were two Tactical Rides per side in a meeting) a Reserve could theoretically have scored 27 points! 4 programmed Race wins. 1 win as a Replacement for any rider. 2 x Tactical Ride wins. (Replacing two Tactical Riders who both happened to be Fn in the first running of their TR race) Now the maximum he can score is 24. ATB Dave

    Coventry Meeting Day

I should think it will also be a major subject in Monday night's annual 'Tapes Up Forum' on CWR. 6:00 pm to 7:00. You will be able to 'Listen Live' and also contribute via text questions to the panel which includes Mick Horton & Laurence Rogers. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbccoventryandwarwickshire ATB Dave

  25. Coventry Press Release: COVENTRY are pleased to announce they will honour Birmingham Speedway season tickets for the remainder of the regular Elite League season. The Perry Barr club has regrettably closed for 2014 after attempts to ensure they could continue racing proved unsuccessful, and Coventry wish to give the loyal Brummies fans at least some consolation and value for their financial outlay over the winter. The Buildbase Bees have nine home fixtures remaining, and Brummies season ticket holders will be welcomed with free admission for those meetings. Our next Elite League meeting is this Friday (July 18) against Belle Vue. Match programmes (and admission to play-off meetings if appropriate) will be chargeable at the usual prices. To take advantage of this offer, please send an e-mail to info@coventrybees.co with your name, address, category of season ticket and your season ticket number. These details will be collated and a list placed at the Bees’ usual season-ticket entrance so that your name can be ticked off when you arrive at Brandon.
