Can confirm that, although not able to speak to Jason personally in the pits after the meeting, I did speak briefly to his dad Rod as he was packing up Jason's gear and he confirmed that Jase was OK.

 

Newcastle is a very fast track...imagine a more circular ang bigger Sheffield - it's flat out from start to finish with speed increasing each lap....and they only do three laps to avoid running out of fuel...and that's what happed to Travis M yards from the finish allowing Johnno to victory right on the line. Mind you Johnno's on a mission....never seen him so fit - Swindon might just live to regret not retaining him for 2005.

 

Great to see Todd Wiltshire again both at Gosford and Newcastle...He has loaned Charlie G a rolling chassis for the series which is being powered by an engine lent to Charlie by John Jorgensen.

And for Cov fans too....(and Edinburgh ones no doubt too!) Rory's OK after another torrid night including his fall in his last. Just cheesed though!

Thanks for the info regarding the three laps Bryn, I was wondering why that was !! It caught me unaware a few times with me thinking there was an extra lap due and then the checkered flag came out. Also caught Craig Watson out too one time as he kept going flat out for another two thirds of a lap after the finish causing some frantic activity at the tapes as the start marshal had already pulled the tapes back down ready for the next heat.

 

Lovely venue to watch speedway at and as you say, the track is very fast and not for faint hearts. Having said that it does have a nice bit of banking to it and those prepared to have a go can get the rewards. I enjoyed the night and hope they go back there again next year. I'd be very interested to see what the track and racing looks like on TV too.
