speedyguy 20 Posted March 18, 2006 (edited) I am told that the Odsal Stadium still houses the old speedway-stock car track round the rugby league pitch. They were great days speedway days when Johnnie Hoskins introduced the sport there in 1945-46. Great riders like Alec Statham, Ernie Price and the much under-rated Ron Clarke were in the team. Later came Joe Abbott, Max Grosskreutz and Oliver Hart. Speedway WAS SPEEDWAY in those magical mid-1940s. Anyone living in the area know what's happening there? I understand there are some photos 'out in cyberspace' of the present stadium. Up the Boomerangs (or is that too far back?).
