If a bookie takes too many bets on a certain rider, horse etc then they just lay a bet off with another bookie.

betting automatically suspends on internet bookies websites if the level of bets or losses reach a certain level,, guess its to protect them over night etc as the internet is obviosly open 24hrs,, ive noticed it on other bookie sites as well and they have just been made reavailable later
