Riders With The Same Name Over Last 30 Years

Recommended Posts

I need some help clarifying whether the following relate to more than 1 rider with the same name, or whether in fact it is the same rider with a long gap between league appearances. Any help gratefully received..thanx in advance..

Alan Spencer - 1989 had 1 meet for Mildenhall, and in 1996 1 meet for Swindon

Andy Buck - 1996 3 conference meets for Sheffield, is this either the andy Buck who last rode for Eastbouree in 1990, or the Andy Buck who rode in 1987-88 for Middlesbrough, or neither!?

Darren Slater - 1987 6 meets for coventry, 2000 4 meets for newport mavericks

Dave Roberts 1984 3 meets for weymouth, 1986 exeter, 20001 somerset

Peter Johnson 19994 cleveland, 95-98 berwick, 1999 newcastle, weymouth 2006

Steve Clarke 77/78 Boston, 2002/2003 peterboro/wolves conf

Rob Price 1982 1 app for Milton Keynes, 1993 2 apps for exeter

Roger Dickerson 1 app for Ipswich in 1982, 2003 boston, 2004 wimbledon (conf)

Steve Mildoon 1980 long eaton, 1983 milton keynes, 2000 buxton (conf)

Stuart Williams 1985 1 app for Reading, 1986 Exeter, 2002 carmarthen 2003 newport (conf)

Definitely the same Kevin Young. Or "Best wishes Kevin Young" as he signed his autograph.

Mark Hepworth 1987 Long Eaton 87, 1991/92 sheffield

The above were all the same riders, making comebacks after several seasons out of the sport.

Steve Clarke 77/78 Boston, 2002/2003 peterboro/wolves conf

This is 2 different riders, Steve Clarke who rode for Boston, also rode for Rye House.

Paul Taylor, 1984 1 app for exeter, 1985 1 app for cradley, 1994-98 linlithgow

Paul Taylor ( Linlithgow) was not the same rider as the one who roder for Exeter & Cradley

Not sure about the others.

Michael Warren certainly rode for hackney (89-91) and cov (92). I think he may have made an appearance as a local junior on occasions when he first tried to make it, which may explain Glasgow & Reading.

Sadly passed away a few years ago.

JC - I've been away from the sport for a few years and was unaware Michael Warren had died - he must have only been in his 30's - what happened?

It was Danny Slater who rode for the Mavericks in 2000. I think he was only 15 or 16 years old.

Stuart Williams also made a very brief appearance for Reading in 2003, he rode at Newport in the M4 Trophy challenge and was then injured in the first attemt to run heat 2 of the return leg at Reading.

Roger rode for the Dons in 2002 NOT 2004.....

But yes, he's the same fella who'd made that appearance for the Witches all those years earlier...

How about Scott Smith, an Englishmen and a Aussie.

The Aussie rode for Newport and Newcastle and few years back and the other Scott (Nickname Scud???) rode for Sheffield at one stage I think???
