Devil-Darren 0 Posted July 22, 2008 (edited) SOUTHERN TENNERIFE your rubbishting me? I have to travel from Edinburgh to Workington to get a damn lap of a track THE SCOTS HAVE SPEEDWAY AS WELL YOU KNOW well would you rather do that to get a lap or have a week in the sun and race speedway all day long ? I would imagine it isnt meant as a full fixture running track just a place to have a training holiday. i know which one i would rather have. darren Edited July 22, 2008 by Devil-Darren

Devil-Darren 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Are you going to pay for me to go and race speedway in the sun all day long? have a think about it really. you travel to workington i would say that costs you a fair bit on fuel etc.. to do a few laps or have a holiday in the sun and ride speedway all day every day. A friend of mine owns the motocross track in tenerife and he gets people flying over all the time for holidays and they ride all day long and it doesn't cost alot. when i found out about it i thought what a good idea. darren
Snyper1010 24 Posted July 22, 2008 Yeah Darren a great idea for a holiday but when your doing it to try and get to club level club level im afraid a holiday every weekend aint visable.
Ray Rocket 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Technically, or almost, Scotland have three tracks, as there is Berwick. I am surprised speedway hasn't caught on better in France.

Ron Butler 0 Posted July 22, 2008 A track in spain? anyone ever consider opening one in Scotland. Jesus Christ we are crying out for a track up here. Who the hell has heard of a top Spanish rider. SOUTHERN TENNERIFE your rubbishting me? I have to travel from Edinburgh to Workington to get a damn lap of a track THE SCOTS HAVE SPEEDWAY AS WELL YOU KNOW You appear to be rather confused as to wether the sport of speedway has reached Haggisland [see below] yet. I can assure that there have been tracks north of the border for a good many years. Scotland also produced one of the greatest and most colourful riders of yesteryear. I refer to Bert 'Haggis' Harkins. Yeah Darren a great idea for a holiday but when your doing it to try and get to club level club level im afraid a holiday every weekend aint visable. 'Visable' = visible? Does that mean that after a weekend break in Southern Tenerife you would be unable to see your way to one of the tracks that still operate in Scotland. Perhaps you meant viable i.e within the bounds of probability? Enjoy your speedway - wherever you watch it.
Shadders 4,135 Posted July 22, 2008 I think Snyper was refering to the lack of training facilities for Scottish riders north of the border. To my knowledge neither Scottish side has dedicated training for up and coming talent. I know Glasgow have second halves, but they are for established riders with a little more experience than I suspect Snyper has. This may explain the lack of Scottish speedway riders coming though the system
Devil-Darren 0 Posted July 22, 2008 the biggest problem with training tracks in the UK is they dont take priority and the great british weather usually destroys it lol no bad weather in spain lol darren
