well would you rather do that to get a lap or have a week in the sun and race speedway all day long ?

I would imagine it isnt meant as a full fixture running track just a place to have a training holiday.

i know which one i would rather have.

have a think about it really.

you travel to workington i would say that costs you a fair bit on fuel etc.. to do a few laps

or have a holiday in the sun and ride speedway all day every day.

A friend of mine owns the motocross track in tenerife and he gets people flying over all the time for holidays and they ride all day long and it doesn't cost alot.

when i found out about it i thought what a good idea.

Yeah Darren a great idea for a holiday but when your doing it to try and get to club level club level im afraid a holiday every weekend aint visable.

Technically, or almost, Scotland have three tracks, as there is Berwick.

I am surprised speedway hasn't caught on better in France.

What's the state of Russell's venture now? How long ago was today's programme made?

You appear to be rather confused as to wether the sport of speedway has reached Haggisland [see below] yet. I can assure that there have been tracks north of the border for a good many years.

Scotland also produced one of the greatest and most colourful riders of yesteryear. I refer to Bert 'Haggis' Harkins.

Yeah Darren a great idea for a holiday but when your doing it to try and get to club level club level im afraid a holiday every weekend aint visable.

'Visable' = visible? Does that mean that after a weekend break in Southern Tenerife you would be unable to see your way to one of the tracks that still operate in Scotland. Perhaps you meant viable i.e within the bounds of probability?

Enjoy your speedway - wherever you watch it.

I think Snyper was refering to the lack of training facilities for Scottish riders north of the border. To my knowledge neither Scottish side has dedicated training for up and coming talent. I know Glasgow have second halves, but they are for established riders with a little more experience than I suspect Snyper has.

This may explain the lack of Scottish speedway riders coming though the system

the biggest problem with training tracks in the UK is they dont take priority and the great british weather usually destroys it lol

no bad weather in spain lol
