Phillip Addison 0 Posted June 29, 2009 Never been to Cardiff, was thinking of going next year but after reading this thread [ and a pretty similar one last year ] i wont even bother. If i want to watch morons acting that way i can tune into one of those late night cops with cameras programmes chasing their tales around classless binge drinking scum that blight the UK now. I think its PATHETIC when so called adults have to get drunk and behave like this in the name of enjoyment. And the sad thing is it includes riders. Speedibee I dont care how much of a warn you have tbh. Though your still trying to make out my whole point of Cardiff is to wind people up. There was some idiot in a bad mood he decided to moan at me for having and waving a danish flag. Now if he is upset with the refs decision that is upto him but he has no right to tell me that i cant wave my flag because a english rider was excluded. So lets get this straight. I go to Cardiff for the socialising and speedway. Im a Hans fan so wave a Danish flag and will continue to do so for as long as Hans is in the series. Don't be like that Down in the Park. If you have never been book up and go-It is a fantastic day. Me and the lad have been going every year and never seen any violence or had any trouble whatsoever-apart from seeing what went on in the next block this year. Unfortunately a few unsavoury incidents have been reported and magnified-for the majority of people there I bet no one had any hassle. Whatever you do in life there are always going to be a few idiots around. I did not see any of the trouble mentioned. The reason I Posted was in support of those people who were affected. You should go to a GP - I am against the System - I only went to this one so my criticism of the GP System would be an informed criticism. However I was so impressed with the set up, Cardiff and everything about the weekend - I have already booked for next year. Riders are only human too they race and risk their lives for our entertainment so who the hell are you to say they cant go out and enjoy themselves? People go on about how great the sport is with the fan - rider interaction, you dont get better than seeing them out in the pub having a laugh over a drink etc with the professionals. If they had a punch up so be it. To be honest as long as they are scoring on the track thats all i care about, when they take off them kevlars well they can do what they want. If theres one thing i cant stand its drunks behaving like idiots to the point they cant stand, and it only takes one behind you spilling beer all over you to spoil the Cardiff experience. Im not against ' atmosphere ' id love to take in a Polish league match with 20,000 there, and yes more than a little alcohol would be in evidence lol !!! But as someone said early on this thread ' Cardiff is great, its speedways biggest p'ss up. Mmmmmm. Maybe i'll re-think it on your advice though, after all if you havent tried it once ? Brummie Boy 61 Posted June 29, 2009 Woth a crowd of over 40,000 there are bound to be one or two incidents but people do seem to be going OTT. Spillage is always going to happen whether it be alcoholic or soft drinks given the limited room per seat. At any sporting event you are going to get some who have had a few sherberts. That's just the way it is. You either put up with it or stay at home, same as any Saturday night in any town centre across the land. Some people do need to be more tolerant i'm afraid. Why do we always hear that we should be more tolerant and accomodate the idiots and the drunks, why not a little less tolerant and tell "the minority" that they either behave like civil human beings and respect other people's entitlement to enjoy themselves. It was , if i'm not mistaken , the British GP ( and i am proud to be British ) . I'm sure the Welsh people in the crowd must have felt the same as me . I've already mentioned it in another post but it really narked the hell out of me after the second playing (I did shout out "Its the BRITISH GP on the first time it was played).
