Crikey there must be summat in the air, the Lynn floodlights went off the other night too, they did come on again mind after a few mins, it was a bit worrying after that in case they went out again whilst the riders were racing but someone thought of a novel way of lighting the track though!

No! Gates were shut when lights went out people were still coming in until then - so don't know what the crowd would have been.

I thought it was more like 200, they gave everybody they money back as we came out, decent of them I thought.

The lights went off at about 7.10pm and didnt look good, then they didnt mess about like some of the clubs do, just after 7.30 they told us what was going on, an outside problem and then everybody left.

Damn shame, it was a decent night, not too cool and clear.

Thats good they give you the money back and also good they didnt hang out telling you what was happening !! Hope this can be re-staged for sometime next season

It may well be the opening meeting of the 2011 season. Many thanks for the comments about how we handled the postponment --nice to get something right!!

When we closed the gates there was a queue to get in and from experience we have a lot of fans who come in at the last minute so the crowd would have been ok.

Naturally the call off cost the promotion and with the new outlay for a generator to enable Friday's all important National League play-off final with Buxton to go ahead , it was an expensive night for Newport Speedway !!
