Coventry 99 % Certain To Be In Elite Next Season Acording To Sandu

Recommended Posts

If Coventry & Peterborough do get back in, and I for one don't believe the spin coming out from Brandon that this is a bolt on, then that would require compromise on the constitutionally approved rule changes. Which in turn would surely require approval from all the teams not just the EL.

Now, as the new conversion factor suits the PL - if you don't believe me, just look at the riders coming in like Wright, Gjedde, Risager etc - but it doesn't suit Coventry, and is one of the rule changes that Coventry want reversed, how likely do you think that the PL will be happy to see support Coventry's return?

I think this still has a long way to go.

Here we go again, and I don't mean just you. People are still spouting off as though they actually know exactly what is being demanded/negotiated etc. The only fact as far as I can see is that none of us actually know anything for certain either regarding the exact reasons for the reported walkout, or the exact nature of the current discussions.

As for "the spin from Brandon that re admittance is a bolt on" or words to that effect, I haven't seen that myself, what I have seen is a message "hoping" to have some positive news, that doesn't sound like anyone taking anything for granted to me.

Let's face it, it would be a little odd to enter any negotiations hoping to soon have some bad news to relate would it not!!

steve no elite team has a complete team officialy yet why ???

Because it takes time to organise. This time last year only a couple of clubs had completed. The 40 points limit won't change. Desisions have already been made based on the 40 points limit.

Poole, for example. let go of Bjarne so they could get a couple of 4 pointrs at reserve. If the points limit rose to, say 42, Poole could have kept Bjarne and still had two 4 pointers at reserve.

Add that to the fact that it was voted in democratically at the AGM and its not going to change because Coventry and Peterborrough say so.

Bullies should not be allowed to prosper, just because they have a large wad in the bank.

I hope there is an Official Press release very soon because this has turned into the most boring self-opinionated thread I've seen on here.

Unfortunately, I fear the Press release will be followed by an equally boring thread of epic "told you so" proportions !

That follow up thread could be quite entertaining initially, just picking out those who are humble enough to admit they got it hopelessly wrong and those who disappear for a while :D

How can you possibly know this?

Please explain to me what is illegal about the decision making of a sporting governing body?

Add that to the fact that it was voted in the absence of two parties at the AGM

So who was bullying who then Steve? Do you know? No. Do i know? No. Stick to the facts. If we take out everything on this thread that is pure speculation we'd be left with about 3 pages.

I would think that rules as set by a sporting body simply still need to comply with national and European laws on restriant of trade /contract law and that kind of stuff. I would imagine that this is why it was a competition specialist that was engaged by the Brandon promotion. Problem is for those outside the loop is that there is no way any of us can know any of the specifics until after a settlement or otherwise is completed, and even then I suspect we will be given very little detail. I suspect neither side will be wanting to be seen gloating or bitching too much as some attempt to rebuild bridges is going to be required and that kind of behaviour would have the opposite effect.

You didn't answer my question.

If a sporting governing body put proposed rule changes to the vote which are then voted in democratically how can this be illegal. How much more clearly would you like me to put it?

Well obviously it can be as there have been lawyers involved. My point was how can you possibly know everything that has happened?

Colin Cooke is right, you are wrong. Dismissed.

NOBODY is right or wrong at the moment. Not being dismissive of what Colin does or doesnt know (if he does im not to say) but until there are official releases its ALL just speculation. If what Colin says is the truth then im sure we will not here the last of it!

Not having a pop at Colin - im just not a fan of people who claim to know things - even if they do!

Exactly. Everyone talks about legal action. On what grounds?

The BSPA have no case to answer.

Exactly. NOBODY knows (or a hundred or more know if you believe Skeletor  ) what theses grounds are. Its just pure speculation or people have read bits of what other promoters have said and put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5.

I prefer to wait until the official release before i make a true informed opinion of who is in the right or wrong.

Its just my opinion that Sandhu (in particular) and Frost are trying to alter the game at the detriment of the sport.

Until i hear what all the fuss was about (officially, not in posters beliefs or sources) then ill be more enlightened.

So will 99.9% of posters id imagine.
