Start time on website says 7.45 but I would get there a bit before that in case it is busy,

]SHEFFIELD: Thursday, May 19: Ritchie Hawkins (Rye House), Craig Cook (Edinburgh / Belle Vue), Chris Harris (Belle Vue), Andrew Tully (Edinburgh), Jordan Frampton (Rye House / Belle Vue), James Wright (Workington / Birmingham), Luke Bowen (Rye House), Ben Barker (Plymouth / Birmingham), Josh Auty (Sheffield / Coventry), Richard Hall (Leicester), Derek Sneddon (Newcastle), Paul Cooper (Unattached), Ricky Ashworth (Sheffield), Scott Nicholls (Swindon), Danny King (Birmingham), Dakota North (Somerset / Peterborough).

The top seven from each meeting will progress to the British Final at Wolverhampton on Monday, June 6, alongside two wildcards.

£15.

Scunthorpe is £14. Both tracks have added £1 to usual admission.

Surely the biggest waste of a meeting there has ever been this one !!

Give Scott, Bomber, Josh, Ricky, Ben and Danny the night off to prepare for better meetings

Jordan, James and Richard have one race and the winner joins the above

The rest may as well take a leaf from Dakota and not bother turning up

Not much interest? Sad state of affairs really....

Hoping Josh gets through this meeting!

Come to think of it, let's skip the British Final as well, award it to Nicholls and finish the season now. Give Gollob a second world title, Coventry the EL and Ipswich the PL title. Its all meaningless at the end of the day right?

Whats so meaningless about riders trying to qualify for a British Final? I would much rather see 32 riders battle it out to qualify for 16 places than 16 riders just get picked for the Final. Also gives everybody a fair chance to make the Final on merit.

So would I. In the old days almost every Brit got a chance with preliminary rounds, quarter finals, semi finals and then the final. You won't hear any of the lower order riders saying they're a waste of time.

Guys like Frampton would probably miss out on a British Final seed but he was unlucky tonight losing 3 points and still qualified. That's what these meetings are all about.

I never heard anyone say the Overseas and Intercontinental Finals were a waste of time, nor the GP challenge final.

Have a qualifier, by all means, but make it so the top 8 can join the 8 seeded riders. Britain only has 4 or 5 EL standard riders, who wants to see them miss out due to bad luck or whatever else and have to suffer 16 sub-standard riders.

And how are these sub standard riders supposed to improve if they dont ride with the best the country has to offer. Riding in these meetings give them the experience and the willingness to learn, not just on track but in the pits.

Who in the line-up at Sheffield tonight will go on to be EL standard? Cook and Newman are probably the only 2 who look to have the potential. You might also include Auty in that but he's doing a very decent job at EL level anyway.

Hope Auty gets a wild card ahead of Stead. Stead is yet to ride this year and is poor at best around Monmore when fit.
