Fozzie4388 679 Posted July 20, 2011 After the Premier League Teams faced off last week it is now the turn of the National League teams to do battle. The Saints will be without Cooper, Blair and Richie Worrall (The Latter on Premier League Duty with Newcastle @ Somerset) So the Saints have booked Former Number 1 Byron Bekker to guest and will use R/R for Worrall at 2. With Youngster and one of the finds of the Season Stefan Nielsen coming in at number 7. Meanwhile the Hornets have also made a couple of changes with Steve Jones and Brendan Johnson joining the club to replace Tom Young and David Gough. The Teams are. Saints. 1. Byron Bekker 2. R/R for Richie Worrall 3. Steve Worrall 4. Gary Irving 5. Ashley Birks 6. Adam Wrathall 7. Stefan Nielsen Hornets 1. Todd Kurtz 2. Steve Jones 3. Brendan Johnson 4. Matt Bates 5. Jay Herne 6. Richard Andrews 7. Jamie White-Williams

June 203 Posted July 21, 2011 For me this is what the NL is all about........Last year Scunny stuck with our youngsters when some teams strengthened. Most of these lads have improved and held their own in the prem leauge so its a thrill and pleasure to watch these kids go for it. I know their sights are on winning the league, So come on Saints do the job. Good luck and stay safe.
crazysue 613 Posted July 22, 2011 Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the updates site? If so, could you please either leave a message here or send me an email or pm. Thanks
CrystalCastles 292 Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) Well done Scunthorpe. Great performances from Irving & Birks. Irving particularly has made great progress imo dominant at home, better away & put some good scores in at PL level, well done. Wrathall, Nielsen & Worral provided good support tonight as well by the looks of it. Hornets did as I expected, happy enough with the performance. June 203 Posted July 23, 2011 Well done to both teams for a good meeting. Some excellent races. A quick shower just before the meeting possibly made the track a little greasey as in the first few races our riders were being caught out and falling, either that or they were just trying too hard. However things evened out and the track then produced some brilliant racing. Hats off to Gary, he was amazing, some of those passes looked fantastic! It was however a good win and congratulations to all our team. 3pts is what we wanted and its what we got. BRILLIANT!
MrMungo 708 Posted July 23, 2011 Irving and Birks very impressive for the Saints. On the other end of the scale, where on earth did they find that announcer? He was certainly...interesting.
