Watton81 0 Posted October 9, 2011 Given all the discussions and debates over wild cards for the gp's shud we have the top 10 qualify for the following year, 3 from the qualifiers and 3 permanent wild cards
Watton81 0 Posted October 9, 2011 Maybe they could make it that If you received a wild card one year you couldn't receive one for the following year so you would always have 3 fresh riders to try their hand at the gp's
Fozzie4388 679 Posted October 9, 2011 There should be such things as wildcards the Top 3 only should qualify for the next year and 12 others should have to qualify.

I would say that the world champion should have the right to defend his title, but everyone else should have to go through qualifiers, perhaps with a WC for each meeting. The qualifying rounds should also be held the same year as the competition itself, and not nearly a year from it. But should-have-beens and if's and but's are another thing. The system is the way it is.
Baille 3 Posted October 12, 2011 Wildcards should be scrapped completely. Why should a rider who has ridden in all the qualifiers and come 4th be bypassed by another rider who gets a wildcard pick? I reckon keep the top 8 for GP as now. Have the GP challenge to be contested without current GP riders with top 3 going through. The final slots will be a one off meeting with the remaining 7 GP riders and top qualifiers from GP challenge who did not make top 3. The top 4 will then get the final GP places.
