Pearce f.exc; Sheppard f.exc no time [4-7] heat 3) Rumsey; Baldock; Williams; Sheppard Exc.2M [6-11] heat 4) Baldock; Naylor; Rose; M. Pearce [9-14] Unfortunately fell foul of the 'curfew' and had to end after 4. There had been a long delay when Jack Kingston got hurt in the second staging of the fateful heat 2. Tough on the YHs who were denied a chance to get back into contention but especially on Dale and Wayne's lads coming all that way for just two rides each. No winners times for heats 1, 3 & 4 as couldn't hear in the pits. Down to someone in the cosy and more acoustically friendly bar to assist..?

Parsloes 1928 nearly 495 Posted July 19, 2012 With news that Ryan Daley (the more recently NZ-based debutant for the Tiger Cubs) having been born in Hammeresmith, it means that no fewer than FOUR of the riders in action in his match were born in London Boroughs... Daley in Hamersmith & Fulham; Jack Kingston in Barking & Dagenham; and the Pearce bros in Waltham Forest. Wonder when was the last time FOUR Londoners appeared in the same match!! Parsloes 1928 nearly 495 Posted July 20, 2012 The Pearce brothers Dad told me that they were both born in Upper Edmonton, so maybe they were conceived in Waltham Forest Well let's be honest, Barrie would know!! Upper Edmonton is EVEN better...!!! Now here's a London-related questioin for you... Which other relatively recently 'active' Speedway rider was also born in Edmonton (Upper or otherwise).?! You'll know Mimmo, coz you're the king of the date & places of birth!!

Parsloes 1928 nearly 495 Posted July 20, 2012 Ah yes, well funny enough that IS correct but actually I was thinking of someone else!! A rider who really IS a big favourite of mine... Though to be fair, not a rider with anything like as distinguished record as Master Cockle. Your next challenge..: name this OTHER rider!!

No - and to be honest not sure if he ever did notch up any official appearances..? I think maybe once with Plymouth maybe but I know him from his own appearances (in second halves) at Wimbledon...
