Guest Posted May 26, 2013 After a fruitless May for the Dragons Amateur Speedway Club we are looking forward to our first competitive action of the 2013 season at the Norfolk Arena, King's Lynn with a 1pm start. The event is open to members and non-members alike and to all abilities. Also there is the opportunity to practice should you not wish to compete in the event itself. Ride n Slide Dayz 2012 14 Posted June 3, 2013 Following a successful first session last month, the next Training School to be held at the Arena Essex Raceway, home of the Elite League's Lakeside Hammers will take place on Friday June 14th. The session will run from 11am to 3pm and will have three licensed Training Instructors present to help you with any problems you have with your riding etc. Of course, you are more than welcome to join us and do your own thing, that is completely up to you ! The session is priced at £45 and you can book your place by contacting either Russell Paine on 07976 424145 or Gerald Richter on 07973 839056. Ride n Slide Dayz 2012 14 Posted June 12, 2013 We are pleased to announce that due to unprecedented demand we have confirmed a third 2013 event at Brandon Stadium, Coventry for Friday October 4th. Bookings are now being taken for this event in the usual way. Following the postponement of our event at Mildenhall last season despite all of Michael Lee's gargantuan efforts to make the track rideable, the demand for this seasons experience day have blown us away, selling out in under two weeks ! As this venue has proved extremely popular we very much hope to secure two dates at West Row next year which would be absolutely fantastic. A huge thanks to Chris Louis for his help in arranging to host us, much appreciated. Many thanks as always for your interest in what we offer and it's been an awesome year so far with many people returning to ride with us, bringing friends and family along to join them. In fact our most recent event at Coventry on May 31st saw not one but two husband and wives take to the track !!! No new silencer required At least two fully licensed Training Instructors will be present to help with any aspects of your riding/racing that you wish to work on. Ride n Slide Dayz 2012 14 Posted July 8, 2013 Dragons Amateur Speedway Club return to competitive action on Sunday July 21st at the Norfolk Arena, King's Lynn following a massively successful Training & Practice Session at Sittingbourne a week ago. The event coming up is open to all, both classes and ages with the option to just practice in between the races should you not wish to compete on the day. You do not need to be a Dragons Club member, as day membership is available. It is a 1pm start and we ask that you arrive a minimum of one hour before so that we can get you booked in and your bikes examined. Entry for the event is just £40 with a guarantee of five programmed rides, although that can be higher as at our last event at the NA, a rider who was covering retirements and had an R/R ride ended up taking to the track no less than NINE times, (and was disappointed when he wasn't in the nominated riders heat !!!!!!) Entries for this event close in Sunday 14th so if you fancy it then contact Julie Tutton on 01633 858899 or 07920 002785 to reserve your place. We look forward to seeing you then. Ride n Slide Dayz 2012 14 Posted July 22, 2013 (edited) It's fast approaching that time again folks, the Dragons Amateur Speedway Club will be holding their eagerly anticipated MTD Group Credit Crunch event at The Old Gun Site, Sittingbourne on Sunday 4th August. This is the Clubs chance thanks to the continued backing of The MTD Group of companies, to say thanks to all the riders that have supported the Club, by allowing riders to take part for just £15 for members and £20 for non-members. Unfortunately due to event restrictions that have been in place at the Iwade circuit this years event will be a winner-takes-all single legged event, as opposed to the two-legged version that we have held in the past. To book your place for the Credit Crunch contact Julie Tutton on 01633 858899 or 07920 002785 and reserve your place. The event is Open to all but priority will be given to Club Members, although with 42 spaces up for grabs there should be plenty of room for everyone, with Open, Intermediate and Support Classes anticipated. We will also be looking for Team Managers for the six teams so if you fancy trying your hand at being the next Rob Lyon, Alun Rossiter or John Sampford then get in touch, you have six teams to choose from !!! This proved to be a brilliant day last year with at least a couple of those that took part, returning for this years event ! Like all of our RnS Dayz they are fully inclusive, the only thing you will need to bring should you wish to join us is YOU !!! There is absolutely no need for any previous experience as our 125cc bikes give you the perfect opportunity to take your first steps at riding speedway in a controlled environment. Ride n Slide Dayz 2012 14 Posted August 8, 2013 Following on from the awesome Credit Crunch event that took place at Sittingbourne last Sunday,the Dragons return to the Norfolk Arena for their next event on Sunday 25th August. The Club continues to go from strength to strength, with new members joining on a regular basis. We have been completely blown away that we have already had several riders who have taken their first rides in ther sport with our Ride n Slide Dayz have now joined the Club and taken part in some of our events, the latest of which was a visitor from the Isle of Man who had a bumper weekend last month taking part in his second RnS Day at Mildenhall and then competing in the Dragons event at King's Lynn the following day !! As always, our events are open to anyone and with any size machinery, all can be accommodated. Also, should you wish to practice instead of taking part in the competitive side of things this too can be arranged. The event is open to riders of all abilities and riders will be grouped amongst others of a similar ability, to offer a competitive day throughout. Well done to James on winning ALL 7 heats he entered, on his FIRST ever competetive speedway race day. Our mate Gavin won 3 heats, one of them from the 15 yard line, , , , on his FIRST ever day of speedway racing. Is it possible to put me in the right direction of results and winning times please.
