mikec 412 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) Seems weird checking Sportowe Fakty website for latest scores & seeing a scoreline of 35-0, not to mention that Shamek Pawlicki's seemingly broken the track record !! Must be serious implications for the Rzeszow club, think Marta Poltorak will have a big fine to pay. Will be intersting to see how this story unfolds... pawel115 251 Posted June 2, 2013 Acording to what was being said during the Tarnow-Zielona Gora match, Leszno broke the rules by grading the track just before match apparently track was graded Friday and should have been left alone those are the Extraliga rules so I can see Leszno being fined as well especially since they are know for doing things like that in the past
mikec 412 Posted June 2, 2013 That's really interesting Pawel, so in that case both clubs could be in trouble - Leszno for breaking rules regarding track preparation, Rzeszow for refusing to race when an official says the track is ok. Is there any precedent in Polish speedway for this kind of situation?
racers and royals 8,747 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) seen far far worse tracks than this http://www.sportowef...549#photo-start Edited June 2, 2013 by racers and royals
pawel115 251 Posted June 2, 2013 Funny thing is this is not the most shocking incident involving those 2 clubs in 1984 during the final round of 1 div(there was no extraliga back then) Rzeszow bribed Leszno and this is what happened -Leszno was leading 41-25 after 11 heats(this was in Rzeszow) and then lost the last 4 heats 5-1 allowing for a tie 45-45 this allowed Leszno to win the championship title at the same time prevented Rzeszow from being delegated to div 2.Polish speedway governing body recognized this as unsportsmanlike conduct cancelled the last 4 heats and deprived Leszno of winning the Championship therefore in 1984 there was no Div 1 Champion ,Rzeszow was relegated to div 2 just an interesting fact for you guys from polish speedway history

mikec 412 Posted June 2, 2013 When you think of a scandal as bad as that was in 1984 between Leszno & Rzeszow, today's events suddenly seem quite trivial in comparison! Great story Pawel. When would you expect the Polish authorities to rule on what happened today?

racers and royals 8,747 Posted June 3, 2013 Probably not totally un-expected but Leszno are claiming that Nicki Pedersen was the ringleader in the Rzeszow refusal to race.
pandorum 1,259 Posted June 3, 2013 looked a decent crowd there. I bet they were bored stiff watching that travesty. From a fan POV the track looked OK. I have seen meetings go ahead on a hell of a lot worse that that. I can understand Nicki not wanting to race after his spill on Saturday but if it's true he was the ringleader for the non appearance of his team then action needs to be taken against him as well as his team.
