i've just sat all the way through that interview with my phone in my hand. At what point was the option to call in offered.

Also, seeing as it was Bikerfm's track solution idea to shorten the straights why didn't you ask it when Hemsley was saying that to alter the track would require moving the stands etc. what a load of old b*ll**ks and 10 minutes of my life i'll never get back.

I thought it was good interview. A lot of coughing and clearing the throat as he told us all how Leicester is the best racing track in England and provides the best entertainment though. Thats me paraphrasing though as i was rubbing my eyes they were watering so much so may not have caught exactly what was said.

did my question end being used for the sole purpose of reinforcing his views about the racing.. i think it may of

I think Chris Simpson writes on the forum, tweets etc but is not on the show. So I think it was his idea, obviously didn't get passed to Paul asking the questions.

Disapointed how few people actually sent in questions or had them read out. I reckon pretty much everything they had sent in they read out, so you can't really blame BikerFM. Also DH answered all the questions asked, you may not like the answers given but he did answer them. Not sure where he got the best track in the country or some of the most passes are at Leicester from though.

Basically DH said there would be no major track changes, due to the high cost. So I think we can only expect minor/cheap changes, if anything-similar to what we have seen the last 2 winters. Therefore, for me this subject is closed, you either put up with what we've got or don't go.

See Post #196 above asking fans to call in, and via twitter, and via Leicester's 2 Facebooks ??? Were you waiting for written invites?

No i was waiting for the bit during the interview where you said call 0117 blah, blah blah if you want to ask david hemsley something. That's how phone in's usually happen isn't it? I sent in a shoutbox question asking you to ask your own question about shortening the track when David was going on about the cost of moving the stadium to accomodate track changes. I clearly need to work on my internet radio show skills !

and you appear to have posted that on the forum as he went on air??? surely an idea to post it before your show begins!

No don't think so. If you listened to the program on a regular basis you would know they don't do live phone ins they read submitted questions out. It may have something to do with licenses and things that may or may not be said on air and of course someone who wants to hold a 1/2 hour discussion with DH on air, which is probably not the point. Was your question asked and answered? (I did hear your name being mentioned or at least your nickname) If so job done

no, my question didn't get asked. A part of it was quoted out of context. As i think i have mentioned above, Bikerfm didn't even ask their own question. With the server issues that BSF seem to be having i didn't even see post 196 till after DH had gone off air. Unfortunately i don't listen regularly to the show so didn't know they weren't doing a phone-in. Everything Bikerfm has posted seems to have pointed to a call in.

Having heard the interview I can only conclude that I have no idea what speedway racing looks like anymore. I will bear this in mind if I return to King's Lynn, Peterborough or Rye House this season. Leicester is a great facility with an awful lot going for it, and there is a lot of hard working people there who obviously put a lot of effort into making visiting a good experience, but the racing isn't entertaining enough. I hope the track issues, whether track shape or track surface, can be sorted but that is looking unlikely.

Not sure why anyone needed to ring in as several questions weren't raised I assume to to time constraints. Volty's got paraphrased which then missed it's point. I would have thought that when DH was saying how good it was that reference to a recent rider leaving could have been made.

A good interview all the same and quite enlightening in a number of areas.

A good interview all the same and quite enlightening in a number of areas.

The area's i thought it was quite enlightening in were just how intransigent David Hemsley is to his product (best racing in the country) and the length's he will bulls**t to try and reinforce that position (i.e the track needing the stadium to be moved to allow alteration).

You honestly could not make last night up!

Have to say I couldn't believe it Not a "it is in early stages and still developing and could be better" etc......Straight in for best track and best racing. Can't believe that sky still haven't called.

Still don't get the blaming of the multimedia types that damage the promotion and business.

If it ain't the track and it ain't the promotion, which Hemsley is quite clear it ain't, then everyone buggering off to do something else on a saturday night has to be someone's fault. And his conclusion is that it still appears to be us and the recession.

I listened to the interview last night. Mmmm.

Best track in the country! No. Best stadium in the country, maybe. I have been to Kings Lynn, Scunthorpe, Birmingham and belle Vue this year and have seen more passing at each meeting than in all of Leicester's meetings, bar the Ipswich meeting. (Exaggeration about BV but there was some).

I was shocked to hear that we have to move the whole stadium to make further improvements, at a cost of £1-2 million. If I remember correctly, wasn't a figure of around 6K quoted a little while ago to move the drains and open up the bends. I may be wrong.

DH did admit that if he knew what he knew now, he would have made the track differently. Who designed the track? Was it DH or a so called track specialist?

If we go into the Elite league, will we be running a team as well? I think people will start to loose interest if ther is racing only once a fortnight or three weeks.

A lot to ponder.
