I arrived last night and the guy at the desk said Newport have had awful weather. The issue seemed to be it got damp while being transported to the stadium.

Rubbish, it would have been well covered. with that amount of shale It would had come in a proper covered lorry How much more crap is going to come out... If it wasn't then big big questions need to be asked..

Huge wind up by the riders and officials. Those photos were taken at the start of the week. Tracks fine. You've all been taken in.

Erm you can get damp inside anywhere through all sorts of weather not just rain. I agree they should have sorted it before practice.

If, it is, its not a very good wind up and will put thousands off going. All the officals should be sacked for it.

Rubbish, that amount of shale would have come in a covered lorry. They have a roof, totally NO excuss.

Get real, as you say this is a one off, since when did preparing temporary tracks become easier than maintaining one that's been in existence for decades?

So many variables to consider but I would say that moisture content in the shale is one of the MOST important factors, also probably the one aspect that is nigh on impossible to fully control.

As far as we know we've got a speedway meeting to look forward to later, here's hoping it's an exciting one with nobody getting injured.

You really are talking nonsense.

The track will be ready for tapes up im pretty sure so dont know why your making a fuss

The poole track has been a joke all season your own fans have even admitted it, its taken them over three months to get it right.

Their not allowed access to the millenium stadium till about a week before maybe less so these things can happen infact they do a damn good joh every year in laying the track in such short time and removing it super fast.

Theyve made a mistake somewhere along the line and their now dealing with it... Theres probably been no official announcement because they are certain the track will be fine come 5pm. Any announcement will put people off - most fans going will look at the gp website and see no announcment so will probably not even know there had been problems till they turn up and here the stories.

Get over it for god sake

Is anyone on here at practice right now? Is today's practice open to the public?

How's it looking?

I did see a picture last night of Tai having a practice... lets just say it wasn't a pretty picture.

Fair point. You surely rent a stadium of that size for a set number of days, arguing as some have that there is been nothing there for 2 weeks so there has been time is only relevant if you are renting it for 2 weeks. Any sensible business would only rent for the minimum time needed

Having said that its clear there has been a grave error made which has seemingly almost seen the worst possible circumstances and while I understand why BSI have said nothing, they would have been made to look extremely stupid and incompetent has there been an issue and the meeting had to be cancelled whether be this morning or later in the day

Anyway, seems its going to be OK, I guess 5pm will tell us that so lets hope it goes ahead and importantly is entertaining for the people paying £60/£70 each on average for tickets. For that money there can be NO excuse for poor track prep regardless of any external influence

Let wait and see

A huge wind up by riders and officials ? Why would they do that ? Or maybe it was just a shale mountain out of a mole hill.
