Don't be disappointed...get in quickly!

Is that a dodgy site? It doesn't look like the normal one!

Whilst it's a good meeting prices are a rip off.

The NME site is presumably part of the company who own New Musical Express. Here's more infor on NME

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NME

I just found the site when I was searching for more info on a possible 2014 USA Grand Prix/

Prices for cardiff are not a rip off. £29 for a great seat and a great venue.

Rip off given these cheap tickets cost £19 a few years go!

It cost over 20 quid to go to osdsal for the world final in 1985!

29 quid is about the same as i paid to go to the nz gp this year and i think its great value

Actually not true.

Standing tickets at Odsal were £7.50 and seats (less than 5000) in the Stand were £15, £17.50 and £20. Nothing over that.

I'm not decrying your point on the value you had at Western Springs as £29 sounds a decent price.

I presume market forces led Mr Buckley to set the prices keenly.

But the vast majority at the 85 Final had £1 change from a tenner after paying to get in and buying a programme.

But the vast majority at the 85 Final paid nowhere near a tenner for both entry and Programme..

I seem to remember the cheapest tickets for the 1990 World Final at Bradford were GBP 17.50, and that was considered quite a hike at the time.

Some good comments but the 1985 Odsal-staged World Final was 28 years ago. Money values have moved on a little since then - and riders are paid far more than they were then.

And the £17.50 mentioned for the year 1990 in real terms now is £33.69.

It's all so long ago and things are different in every way that I cannot see the point of any such comparisons.

I was just correcting an inaccuracy.

You can compare prices over decades by many means, 'real' terms, relative to earnings, even in pints of beer.

But it's all pretty pointless.

That was the price then.

This is the price now.

I apologise. I was obviously wasting my time!

No apology needed at all.

As you said the 1985 Final was 28 years ago

And 1990 was still 23 years ago.

The question of the price for next year is still a very valid one, though.

It's just the looking back in time that doesn't seem to offer much help.

To me at any rate.

£29 for a seat in the Millenium Stadium is not bad value at all.

£29 for a ticket is not a bad price - about the third of a price for a rock concert.

But why do I have to rush to get a ticket for Cardiff, when I can wait 13 months and buy one on the day. ;)

All the best

Rob

No reason at all. In the original message I just wanted to highlight that thoughts are already centred on the 2014 British GP and ticket availability is already there for those who might be interested.
