Guest Posted February 16, 2014 I have read articles dealing with the Craven brothers Reg and Gil. Some have claimed that in 1938-39 that Gil was a ship's engineer on a vessel breaking a blockade imposed by the Spanish Navy to take supplies to anti-Franco government forces. Other articles have made similar claims that it was Reg. Does any BSF forum member have the answer? Post-war, in 1948 Reg (Yarmouth) died following a crash at Poole's opening meeting. Guest Posted February 17, 2014 There was,of course, a third Craven brother - the better known England international Malcolm. From 1936-39 with Wembley and Birmingham, and post-war a key figure for many seasons at West Ham. An England international, when he retired Malcom emigrated to Canada and for many years worked as a pilot involved in crop spraying. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Guest Posted February 21, 2014 How sad! It looks as though the Cravens - Malcolm, Gil and Reg - are now among those who have become "speedway's forgotten men".
