Boobs 140 Posted May 29, 2014 Very unfortunate. But Redcar promotion know their track best, maybe drainage is poor. Bandits have now had TEN meetings (two home and eight away) postponed this year already. Impressive PR by Berwick, getting e-newsletter out to supporters, telling them of cancellation, before eleven o'clock. As of now (11.30) BSPA site still says meeting is on! mikebaker 200 Posted May 29, 2014 Had lots of rain Tuesday and Wednesday, currently dry. Brian Havelock was speaking on BBC Tees last night and hoping the meeting would be off. Both Konopka and Crang at reserve, Graversen in the main body now. Stated that a replacement was proving difficult to source. We have up to 6.15. Boobs 140 Posted May 29, 2014 Speedway has gone mad, if a club (with no home meeting next week either, the loss of which affects their cashflow) would put off a fairly-local derby just because they thought they might not win. The BSPA will say it`s off when they are told by the home promoter or his representative that`s it`s off-which should be one of the first things the promoter does when calling it off !!!. Ned Kelly 41 114 Posted May 29, 2014 Well it smacks of unprofessionalism on one front (and good organisation on the other) if Berwick can set up and send out an e-mail to 500 people by half-past ten in the morning to warn them of the meeting being off, and the people who put it off haven't told the BSPA by noon. Weak team and that track must still be soaked through after 36-48 hours of constant rain that only stopped in the early hours of this morning.
