I do accept that most of the rest have strengthened with the exception of Wolves but I think Coventry will do well again. I think it's more that we have a generally unknown rider in Jamrog, I think it's right to be wary that he may fail but even so changes can be made early. If he doesn't fail and does his job then we will be up there around the top 4. If he can average 5 he will have done well IMO and it's unfair on him to expect much more than that. It's weird, Jamrog seems to have been accepted and people seem to think he's going to do well to get 5. But Bridger was a terrible signing and some people didn't want Pawlicki as it would have meant a few guests. Bridger riding an upright would average 5 and any guests for Pawlicki would stroll to a 5 point average (while probably also allowing Kings to be a second string and score more!). Speedway fan are an illogical bunch. Hang on Shawn, I seem to remember you saying Woodward was a poor signing for the Bees. What's changed? I think you said something along the lines of: After the nightmare of Woodward the only thing we have left is dreams! I wasn't a fan of the Woodward signing but as pointed out, when I looked closer I saw he score a LOT of bonus points at home making his home/away splits not too bad - he'd be a decent enough second string. Not good, not bad. Just ok. But Jamrog is a risk - he's not Klindt so in that respect it's a relief and he has it in him to be a decent rider but this signing certainly weakens us but that was always probably once Bridger was gone. Bridger on crap equipment will average more than the 5 that is now being deemed a reasonable target for this Jakub. If Jakub gets 5 he has been a terrible, awful, pitiful signing. Anyone averaging higher than Hans and Chris in Poland deserves that chance. Scored 8 at Berwick in 4 rides including 2 race wins and one fall. I would be surprised if that did happen. Apart from Wolverhampton there really isn't a lot between the sides on paper. I wouldn't have thought we will lose many at home now we have a genuine 3rd heat leader and that all riders do well at Brandon generally (don't know about Jamrog). None of them will miss meetings either which will hinder other sides. I do think we may struggle away from Brandon. With Hansen he had British experience and in the few times he rode Brandon it pointed to being a Brandon specialist, that never materialised. The Brits and Hans have all had plenty of heats at Brandon so you can be confident they would do well but it's all guesswork with the Pole. My point is that it's not Jamrog's fault he's been signed to ride in place of a 6.80 rider, I think if he averages anything more than 5 then he himself won't have let anyone down, more so the promoter who signed a 5 pointer to do the job of a near 7 pointer. Bridger was a terrible signing because the guys a complete tool who was always going to let us down at some point as he has since confirmed, not because of his lack of talent on a bike. With an change of attitude (and a speedway bike!) he would have been a great signing but that change of attitude will never happen. Can't argue with Pawlicki, he would have made us title favourites IMO but if he doesn't want the job then I guess there's not much more Horton could have done.
