mdmc82 2,878 Posted March 29, 2015 Sunday March 29, 2015 COVENTRY face a rapid return fixture against Wolverhampton as they go into their first away match of the Elite League season on Monday. The Buildbase Bees visit Monmore Green looking to build on their 50-42 win from Fridays encounter at Brandon, with three points already on the board. Four points remain possible from away matches this season, the maximum being awarded for a win by seven or more points, and the scale continues as in previous seasons with one point on offer for a defeat of less than seven. Bees collected one of those consolation points on their first visit to Wolverhampton last year before adding three by winning a thrilling encounter 46-44 in July, and several of their riders enjoy racing at the Monmore circuit. Skipper Chris Harris won the season-opening Banks Olympique Individual at Wolves last Monday, and Jason Garrity is another to have enjoyed good results there in the past. Wolverhampton welcome back their top reserve Lewis Blackbird, who missed Fridays match due to a fixture clash with his Premier League club Peterborough, whilst Tobiasz Musielak is hopeful of returning after having physio on a damaged knee. Bees continue to be without Stuart Robson, who expects to be back for the Good Friday home match against Leicester, and have booked in-form Berwick captain Kevin Doolan as a guest. Manager Gary Havelock said: Its definitely a match we can win. We have riders who like Wolverhampton, and looking at our results there last year we won once and I felt we were robbed on the other occasion when we should possibly have won. Well certainly be going there to try and win, but once again without taking things lightly. SCB 15 Posted March 29, 2015 Kevin Doolan?! When Garrity could have had 3 of the rides and Kylmo 1 of them? Madness.
orion 7,627 Posted March 29, 2015 Kevin Doolan?! When Garrity could have had 3 of the rides and Kylmo 1 of them? Madness. Quite ...Garrity is like a Heat Leader at Monmore
Bees_Man 454 Posted March 29, 2015 Another poor management decision. Think the average supporter knows more. RR surely would have got between 6-8 points

I understand your thoughts, but we have to be open to the possibility of losing a rider to injury early in the meeting.

Can see where you are coming from but very Risky esp when we know what JK & Reserves are capable of. Hope One of Doolans riders will be taken by Garrity if needed though. On Friday night Sarj was flying yet wasn't used to replace Kus in later half of meeting. Could have cost us. Has Doolan ridden the track before?
fliss44 346 Posted March 29, 2015 Kevin Doolan?! When Garrity could have had 3 of the rides and Kylmo 1 of them? Madness. My thoughts entirely! Why oh why? Is it due to Friday's engine problems? Plenty of time to get that sorted!!
Bees_Man 454 Posted March 29, 2015 We just never seem to take advantage of our strong reserves. Kus should never have had fours rides Friday. Should be RR tomorrow and unless Doolan scored over 6-8 then mistake made again.

You should never be thinking of that possibility when putting a side out ....you put out the side that gives you the best chance of winning the match... what in this case is rr rather than Doolan .

SCB 15 Posted March 29, 2015 I understand your thoughts, but we have to be open to the possibility of losing a rider to injury early in the meeting. At least theres some justification for it. I think you have misjudged this one though. The odds of injury vs the odds of Doolan scoreing points. Doolan will get 3 or 4. If a rider does, possible get injured and replaced by a reserve he may get 0. But what are the odds of someone getting injured vs Doolan scoring well? mdmc82 2,878 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) Weather forecast not looking very good for this meeting 🙏 The inclusion of Doolan in place of Robson really weakens the bees. Wolves have a team of riders with A lot of home experience and also one of the strongest reserves in the league in Blackbird. Away they may struggle but think they will do well at home. Tommy Sweetman 480 Posted March 29, 2015 Think Coventry have made a mistake not going R/R,and it will also be a mistake for Wolves if Musielak is declared unfit and they go R/R. They have also gone for a guest, but perhaps with what happened at Brandon with his rides,Adams and CVS just don't want to take the gamble. But there would be better alternatives for Wolves than for the Bees replacing Robson. P T Preece 262 Posted March 29, 2015 Anybody know the proper line up for those of us who cant afford a programme or dont want one, would sooner just have a scorecard.
Panthers89 1,922 Posted March 29, 2015 So a rider might, might not get injured, and you go into a meeting planning for that, completely wrong IMO, go with R/R and atleast give it a go as Garrity could have 7 rides, this way, he cant unless replaces someone other than Sarj or Doolan
