I'M told by her indoors that during an episode of Emmerdale this week a young couple talking about where they would most like to go on a date suggested speedway. How romantic...

Although I'm fortunate that Mrs Appleby is by no means adverse to going to speedway, I would never consider anything to do with speedway romantic.

Never watch soaps however it is thanks to speedway (or more to the point a return from a trip to Eastbourne and going in the local pub on our return) that I met him indoors................never saw him again for 4 years and then a mutual speedway loving friend brought him into the pub where I was working at the time..................the rest as they say is history...................been married 28 years in August.............its had its good and its bad times but we are still hanging in there.............just..............
