SCB 0 Posted March 23, 2016 Wonder if the SCB will launch an urgent investigation into Edinburgh and Wolverhampton over these sorry episodes which are a major embarrassment and a massive setback to the sport in this country? It could have a negative impact on every other club throughout the UK if clubs go announcing that another club's fixtures have been postponed even though they're clearly still shown on the BSPA's own website. I agree, an investigation IS needed here. Someone is in the wrong here.
Reviresco 708 Posted March 23, 2016 There is a track inspection at 1pm. Not 9am as stated previously. The match is not OFF despite what Cradley and Edinburgh say.Clubs need to find out off belle vue if its off or not. Not hearsay which is what they have gone off apparently. Where do you get all this inside info from Phil, as there was a track inspection this morning? If you read the Club's statement, it confirms this and further states that there will be another inspection this afternoon when a decision will be made on holding a practice session tomorrow. Only after this will a decision be made about staging Good Friday's meeting. The match against Wolves may not be OFF yet, but it isn't definitely ON either. Still plenty of time to postpone it before, or even after, 1pm on Friday. (Belle Vue twitter feed still has a banner for the 'Sold Out' Peter Craven Memorial Meeting. Wouldn't it be a good idea to change this..?)
Grand Central 2,654 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) I agree, an investigation IS needed here. Someone is in the wrong here.Absolutely.The Edinburgh story could have just been a bad mistake. But the Woverhampton paper seems to quoting CVS ... that seems a whole lot different. And will surely have a big impact on travelling support. ?? something else for BV to get legal advice on ?? http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/other-sport/speedway/2016/03/23/wolves-speedway-trip-again-called-off/ Edited March 23, 2016 by Grand Central

ouch 1,191 Posted March 23, 2016 It seems strange that Wolves, Edinburgh & Cradley all say they have been told it's off. One club way get it wrong but all 3??The same mystery person told Wolves & Cradley but this person refuses to come forward now. Toby Lorone - please read it carefully, did the Edingburgh announcement.
R87 476 Posted March 23, 2016 What a farce of a sport this really is. No wonder people get fed up when different clubs confirm different things.

Reviresco 708 Posted March 23, 2016 But you have an amazing drainage system so surely there is no problem? Did the Belle Vue management check that the contractors installed the 'state of art' drainage system?

stevebrum 6,821 Posted March 23, 2016 Are the Aces management really saying that a practise session will take place on Thursday and if OK will still run the match on Friday?? I mean, do they really think it's fair to other team and fans to expect such leniency with matches running to suit? ?? By all means have a rigorous testing on Thursday. It most certainly needs it. But why should Wolves and their fans be expected to wait on this being successful. No lessons appear to have been learned. There is no way the Aces should be allowed to run a day before a match is due to take place. You are either ready or you ain't. Wolves have every right to expect news within a suitable time frame. 48 hrs before? A push. 24 hrs a possibility ?? No way. I can't wait to visit the new place but have no intention of having my bank holiday ruined by incompetencies in Manchester.
