Harris, Auty, Stead, Garrity, Kennett, Robert Lambert and Howarth from Scunthorpe for me. Maybe Bates to cause an upset or Wilkinson if he has his bikes sorted and push Garrity or Howarth. Kerr unlikely on present form. Nicholls, King, Barker, R Worrall, Lawson, Cook and Bridger from Glasgow. Charles Wright or Steve Worrall to cause a shock up there if anyone.

Riders in bold i think will progress, though i think Starke in the second one could nick a place

It's only top 7 per semi.

Great point Mr M. Maybe the Gavstar is including his wildcard selections too in his bold predictions?

Hard to disagree with that though I'll go Steve rather than Richie in Glasgow. Certainly that meeting looks a tougher battle to qualify than scunthorpe

A great line up but Think there could be a problem at Scunny with Mr Harris Isn't there a speedway GP in Warsaw on the next day. Don't the riders have to sign on the day before (Friday 13th May) for press and practice

GP Practice isn't mandatory but if you have any real GP ambition you should really be there. With Harris, he's just cannon fodder in the GP's

tbf, Harris is never going to make top 3 in the GPS, or even top 8 with this year's line up. His machinery is clearly the slowest of all riders. And that's fair enough, he gets to compete in the world's premiere speedway event, anything he does achieve is a bonus, he doesn't over invest in equipment and presumably it keeps his sponsors happy. And he gets kudos from the fans for skipping practice to represent the Bees, or take place in meeting slike this one ?(which reiterate that both he and Tai should have been seeded to the final). I can't understand why people (and not picking on your post here) criticise Harris for this - end of the day he is a top 40 in the world rider, so if he scores 4 or 5 points in each GP he's doing well.

Precisely, I always think of Bomber as a modern-day Andy Smith. Every point scored is a bonus.

And like smudger (and before that Mort) the main issue is the utter inability to gate.

Though having said that, bombera gating wasn't too bad in Slovenia, his issue seemed to be a lack of speed and ruthlessness.
