r77toy 13 Posted April 19, 2016 We will be in London (without a car) on the 3rd, maybe we will ride the Metro to Rye House vs Cradley. How late do the meetings usually end? worried about catching the Metro back to London, looks like the last one leaves Rye House at 10:48 Thanks again for all of the advice
Reviresco 708 Posted April 19, 2016 We will be in London (without a car) on the 3rd, maybe we will ride the Metro to Rye House vs Cradley. How late do the meetings usually end? worried about catching the Metro back to London, looks like the last one leaves Rye House at 10:48 Couldn't tell you for definite when the fixture on 03 July will start, but this weekend the Raiders meeting starts at 6pm, so you would have plenty of time to catch a train back into London. On Sunday, the journey out usually takes about 40 minutes, while the journey back into the City can take 50 minutes. The track is an easy walk from Rye House train station. (To be honest, you're best not to have a car for a London trip.) If you do decide to go, you should visit the Rye Fish Bar at the track, and give Ashley Morris a cheer. In my opinion, Hoddesdon is a great little race strip. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip and the weather treats you well.

If, for any reason, it turns into a double header then the start time could change to 2 or 3pm with an even earlier finish.
Triple.H. 1,988 Posted April 20, 2016 If you have a travelcard/oystercard for your time in London I think it will cover your journey to and from Rye House. I'm sure any London based forum members will know for definite.
r77toy 13 Posted April 20, 2016 Is there a pass that covers transit in London as well as the rest of the country? It would be great to be able to use the same pass for our Bristol to Cardiff train rides.
Triple.H. 1,988 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) I seriously doubt it. Travel within London definitely A few mates and myself travel up by train from Oxford to watch Oxford at various away games on the outskirts of London and it generally works out just over £19 each if we bought TFL tickets on arrival at Paddington it would probably be nearer £30 each Forgot to mention we go to watch Football not speedway Though we live in hope we can watch the Cheetahs(other inferior teams are available) Sooner rather than later Edited April 20, 2016 by Triple.H. packerman 160 Posted April 21, 2016 Will need to get an InterRail pass for Great Britain. It is an ideal way to travel around the UK. You can get one from http://www.interrail.eu/interrail-passes/one-country-pass/great-britain The day return from London to Rye House is £11.70 so if only doing short journeys I wouldn't bother with the InterRail pass. If you get one you have to get the pass stamped before you use it to validate it in a booking office.

Presenter 144 Posted May 25, 2016 Thanks for the suggestion. Also looking for Autojumbles, Flea Markets etc. Also any suggestions about places to eat, things to see, not the common tourist stuff. Mill Lane in Cardiff (a stones throw from the stadium) is by far the best place to eat. We have been going to Cardiff every year and for the past 15 years we have gone to the same restaurant every year. Las Igunanas is a fantastic restaurant and we have a table booked for 12.30 on Saturday! It's a great place to meet other friends and its now as much of part of our tradition as the meeting itself! Here's hoping you have an enjoyable trip - you're more than welcome to come and join us for lunch (there is usually about 10 of us!) if you won't know anyone else in town!
