Super Blue 616 Posted June 20, 2017 (edited) On Thursday we face Worky at Foxhall in the league hoping to keep our 100% home record in tact. At the helm for the Comets we welcome the return of the radiator wrecker and new British Champion 'Craig Cook!' (Sorry but I still find it mildly amusing) If he finds the slightly new track shape and material to his liking I think a new track record could be on the cards. Apart from Cooky do we think there should be too much to worry about as far as a home win is concerned? Personally I don't think so but you never know, they've got a couple of riders who've scored at Foxhall before. Think I'll go for early to mid 50's for the Witches. Over to you for opinions. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv 10,706 Posted June 20, 2017 Cook should get the rousing positive reception he deserves. I think he has really kicked on outside league racing and good on him for that. That said Id like to see him 2nd or even 3rd behind a Witch or 2 in this one. Agree with SB that the track record could be under threat. Worky are my dark horses but dont expect them to upset the Witches 100% home record in this one. Will go for 53-
Baldyman 6,243 Posted June 20, 2017 I called the track record days ago, so stop jumping on my band waggon👅👅👅 should be a win by about 10. Hoping the riders have learnt how to stay on a bike since Friday. Can't be throwing leads away like that too often. The thought of watching cook on our track appeals to me, but is it appealing enough to get me there this week. Mmmmm🤔
TheScotsman 2,484 Posted June 20, 2017 Don't see Worky getting close but the BIG attraction will obviously the legendary Cookie Monster. (Our skipper during the amazing trophy laden years of 2014-15!!. And still out biggest asset.) Interesting that the top 3 in the British Final were all Monarchs Championship winners!! Gutted that I'm having to miss this one - hope it's a belter. If there isn't good racing between Cookie and the Ippo heat leaders there never will be (unless Cookie is so far ahead by turn 2!!) Gavan 5,050 Posted June 20, 2017 Coming up for this one and i agree that Cook should get a good reception and hopefully our management will allow him to go round before the meeting to get the applause. In the meeting itself we should win easily by around 10-12, maybe more if we can limit Cook to 12-13 points
Taylorj 1,000 Posted June 20, 2017 Been that long since we had a meeting, didn;t even know we were at Ipswich Always a tough place to go , a huge difference in track to DP, can't see us getting anything from this , haven't rode as a team for a few week, but we do have the British Champion in our side, oh forgot you have two sort of British Final riders in your name team in King and that AUSSIE Schlein priceless !!! Good Luck Boys...stay safe
CookieIpswich 249 Posted June 20, 2017 Don't really want to give ipswich any more money based upon the entertainment provided, I could scratch a fart with a £20 note and provide better entertainment... However slightly tempted to give it a go coz of Cook as I'm saving by not doing the World Cup hmmmmmm I may also have to invest in a spoon

I won't be playing too far away but you should be safe enough at Foxhall hope its a good day for you 👍 Golf is one of the few mainstream sports I didnt really get into playing. I would get far too frustrated by it. You could say golf is to me what I am to Peterborough fans on the BSF 😆

TheScotsman 2,484 Posted June 20, 2017 Used to love golf. Even had a week's golfing holiday in Suffolk many years ago and played a couple of rounds in the Ipswich area. Knackered knee put paid to that and other sport. My only pleasure in life now is annoying the Weegies and the Panters and providing occasional Wagon Wheel sustenance to the poor unfortunates at Foxholes having to endure the turgid fare on offer most weeks. Cookie Rules OK!
