1930s Speedway sizes

Recommended Posts

anyone know what size engines were used in USA 1932 - 1935 ?

surely there were no 45" Rudge and JAP. Id expect 350cc and 500cc class only.

This Crocker brochure mentions "30.50 TWIN overheads were used with much success all during the season of 1932" , 1st page = Crocker Motorcycle Advertising Booklet (esmartkid.com)

These knock-offs are all 45 inch "Specials" (internet image).  If there were 45" engines, they wouldn't be racing against 30.50 Rudge, Douglas or JAP , so there would be no victory over the Brit bikes.

these bikes appear to have no historic value, which means they are genuine knock-offs

I'm looking thru' the magazine "Broadslide" that was published a couple or so years back...interesting articles about bikes but I can't find anything specific?
