Can’t argue with that. But for it to be possible then a significant increase in points limit and some creative signings would be required to make it possible. of the 2026 team, Dickson will most probably stick with Douglas, Morris & Dan Thompson. With one of Joe T & Drew Kemp being a possibility. So three places needed of which 2 will be under 21’s

The support seems to be there although would they wear a weak team two years in a row is a question. for me Thomson was the most improved rider in both leagues this year. Iverson and Harrison both worth keeping the issue as ever is with the likes of Klindt and Lidsey, they can bang in double figures one week and be awful the next meeting so ideally they only want one of them back next year. Then 2-3 new faces one of which needs to be a heavy hitting number one in the Doyle, Bewley mould if one can be tempted over. Flagrag also mentioned well resourced people were interested last year maybe they will decide to step up in 2027 having seen support is there, the other issue seems to be the track which by all counts is a great shape but hasn't been condusive to brilliant racing. -
For once, after all these years, maybe just make the team average match the team with the team that finishes top of the table, pre play offs.. No dumbing down, let the team at the top keep the same riders if they want, and let the rest have room to improve... It is just another daft self inflicted "Speedway Anomaly" that means a team that is successful, who have built an affinity with fans, then gets broken up... Kids in particular love having heroes so if you want them to get engaged (which means an adult paying to get in), then stop peeing about with teams having to lose often one of their best, therefore most popular, riders.. Create an aspirational level to attain by having to "beat the best" the following season... I remember 93 when the Aces won the league and the following season they were nowhere near the same team given the changes.. In every sport the best should be the benchmark for others to try and better, but not by weakening the best..

I guess if that 4.00er is VERY good and Freddy or Max finally kicks on, then fine... But they're two very big ifs. -

What average would James Shanes come in on? Anything below a 4.00 would be a decent reserve? I'm just trying to think of riders who'll be on a bargain average if Glasgow are going with a strong top 4. Are there any Aussies/Kiwis who can come in on a 2.00? Similar to Lotus.
