I think most people would prefer it if you were hidden and out of sight.

"If I can't get a lower team average then I wont run"... "That's fine, you will only be brand damaging again anyway"....

Speedway fans will predict this, but, hopefully, the wider non Speedway followers watching won't know who he is... And, everyone loves a winner, so him winning, and showing his undoubted higher level, can still be a positive.. And, plenty of meetings at the NSS, with a majority of similar level riders, have been fantastic down the years.... Let's hope for the same this evening... 

Talking of less is more, those in charge could start with the rule book. I read in this weeks SS it now runs to 180 pages. Was someone bored when they started writing it up or were they thinking of another sport and got confused. Next point to consider is getting rid of Vatcher, he has done a lot of harm to the image with his decision making and yes I know he may been on site to support younger aspiring riders who take to the track but overall him and few other cohorts need to move aside. Regulations and staffing needs trimming and the governing body should stop threatening riders who take part in Nora run meetings. Years back you had open meetings and often unattached riders would compete but now former riders and those younger ones with a reasonable amount of experience are throwing in the towel because the sport and administration is so badly managed to the point where it is mismanaged and if they awarded degrees for incompetence those collectively sitting on the table and the admin team would all receive a 1st. They then complain that the UK has a shortage of home grown riders. Take a look in the mirror chaps and I think you will find the who is to blame.

Think a lot of Redcar fans being quite harsh on your team in terms of throwing it away. You have to remember Ashfield generally creates a better home advantage in the second half of the meeting, home advantage race lines become more apparent to the Glasgow team and tried and tested bike set ups used sooner.  Think credit to both teams for great night of speedway and a brilliant travelling support both in number and in voice. Another week where speedway was the winner IMHO.

Speedway fans are weird. So we're at a point now where clubs can't sign rider's because others can't afford it?? Absolutely bonkers mentality.  It's up to everyone else to be better, not lowering standards to suit the least well off. Even if the team averages were 25 or 55, in the main, if a club has the most expenditure available, they'll have the best team. It's the way in every single motorsport. It's very very simple, if you want a competitive league, bug all the other promoters to raise their standards
