Have the Bates indicated if they are staying or do they still wish to sell up ? -
Seem to recall reading in Malcolm Simmons book, that he deliberately scored nil in a match, in order to reduce his average so he could get in to the second division. Not sure if that is what you meant. Anyone else remember this in his book? -

I would hazzard a guess that a season of stockcar racing gives the stadium a bigger return than a season of speedway.
