Dougy has been a bit of a slow burner, although he's shown year on year improvement he's never really stood out to me as a number 1, more of a Masters type who has maybe reached his level, which would be okay in a league with no "number 1's". His average last season was achieved from the number 3 spot and he didn't appear in any heat 13, so his average maybe a bit artificially high... for a number 1. Hope he proves me wrong though. -

The last 20 meeting figure of 8.20 is his average over the last 20 league matches [matches 5 to 24 inclusive - 28 April thru 25 Sept]. His official 'final' GSA is based on 20 matches: nos 4 thru 23, that's 21 April to 28 August. At some point the BSPL decided regular season league matches held after the cut off date would not count towards green sheets. -

Exactly right. When we had the asset system, riders were given a percentage of the transfer fee. I think 2.5% of the fee for each year they had been attached to the club. (Although it may have been 5% for the first year and then 2.5% for subsequent years up to a maximum of 25% or 27.5% - someone will remember). Testimonials were compensation for a rider who had stayed an asset of a club for 10 years, and had therefore never had a cut of any transfer fee. It was also possible to be transferred to another club, but refuse a cut of the transfer fee, in which case the years of service continued to build up towards a testimonial. With the asset system seeming to have bitten the dust now, I guess Testimonials will also disappear. Someone will know the cut of the transfer fee. I think it was 5% for the first year, and 2.5% for every other year up to 10 years. -

Has GSA of 8.20 or 8.12 (depending on which conflicting figure you believe) is based on a rolling average of the last 20 matches, and places him 6th Has average over all 24 matches in 2025 of 7.90, places him 9th.
