Recommended Posts

Just noted that Emil is probably lining up with Tai and Hampel this season for Vetlanda, how on earth do they afford such big names with crowds that are not massive!

TV, sponsors and such like probably.

Maybe the guys work cheap

Makes you wonder how we manage with what we get in the UK with crowds that are not even sparse a lot of the times

If you had posted this in the International section you'd likely get some knowledgeable answers from the forums Swedish correspondents. 'Ghostwalker' for one is usually well genned up on all aspects of Elitserien including financial queries.

See speedwaycrazy i told you that you would get tons of replies on here lol.

Joking aside i do remember, likely Ghostwalker?, giving some excellent details on exactly the subject of your question. I'll have a Google around later today if the man himself fails to come up with the goods on this occasion.

The very top crop of riders get around 20k€ per meeting in Polish Ekstraleague, 5k€ in Elitserien and probably 2-3k€ in the Elite. For these sums my Elite estimate is the most outdated, Elitserien is pretty much spot on at the moment and one can only speculate on the Polish sums, but Rune Holta was getting that much a meeting five years ago...

Then you should also remember, that now that Emil has gone public saying he's owed 300k By Czhestochowa, Chestochowa goes public saying Emil owes them 200k for a breach of contract and in other fines...

In Sweden they are running their ship tighter and tighter, if there's a mess somewhere it's usually made public and in the past ten years this kind of news get fewer and fewer... Where as from my memory these kinds of news are more and more frequent coming from the UK.

it is a correct assumption that the attendance is not enough to finance any of the teams. However Vetlanda have a big title sponsor which puts allot of money into Vetlanda.

The latest TV-deal did not bring that much money to the teams but they only have themselves to blame for that.

Why? what have they done or failed to do? I'm pretty sure we get better racing than we see with the UK's Elite league.

Its a long story but basically clubs wanted more influence. Agreement was reached with Svemo an the clubs initiative to start the joint organization SSI and when it

launched clubs backed out from their part of the financing, leaving Svemo with all the costs which was covered by parts of the tv-deal money.
