I'm not making any assumptions. The notice was quite clear. The planning and detail clearly went into creating a bigger problem than the one that was reasonably easy to find a solution to within the existing system. You don't put such things out on the website (under the radar hoping that nobody spots it) and then still be working on the specifics, jeez, it's not rocket science. There were instructions, allegedly spurious reasoning and a diagram; at no point did I also see a "draft" watermark across it! I think I'm the one being reasoned here as I'm aware of the history of EoES parking and understand the problems on all sides. I've been quite calm trying to explain that history (and what history particularly has to do with it is that usually the club is fighting the EoES for access for it's disabled fans whereas they are now the ones kicking them out, that's nothing to be proud of. Also knowing how the system has been administered/organised over the seasons, and the lack of it 2019 seems to have been the prompt for where we now are) and look at what could and should have been done within this club self created problem. With respect, you are entitled to your opinion (it is a forum after all) but I don't need any lectures from someone in Manchester about this particular situation at the club I've supported for longer than I care to remember. I'm also not prepared to sit quietly hoping that they have a plan b in progress because you and I both know (yes I'm happy to assume that) that there was no other solutions being worked on. Hopefully they are looking at this again now or it's going to be a long 6 weeks whoever they sign.

Why? Fixture list was embargoed until Thursday to ensure everyone had time to release them at the same time. I believe that British Speedway needs the Star as, without it, there would be no central source of information. So it’s a simple trade off that the Star gets to release their information at the same time as everyone else. Not before, and not after. It’s how media works best, in my view

All very unsavoury this. Has to be said that the communication between those that run/own the club and the fans who ultimately keep the club running, is poor to say the least.

Some parts of the stadium have been condemned, there is no track, pits or safety fence and there are new houses quite near but yes, if some idiot with enough dosh and the wherewithal to jump through the necessary hoops should come along, it could be 'good news' Don't hold your breath though.

I don't think that they have to do that, just say that on reflection, and from comments received, they have decided to reinstate the former BB system for their disabled fans with clear guidelines. Any infractions will result in individual removal of access with an overall totting up procedure that could lead to the reintroduction of the newly proposed scheme in future. Everyone is happy, there are consequences and management still hold all the aces.

I think you will find he could have signed for both. As good as he is, he needs as much time as possible at small tracks and Newcastle and Edinburgh will give him that opportunity. The same comment goes for Kyle Bickley IMO.

Pity Ian Jordon isn't in charge of speedway in this country in all my many years of going to speedway never known anyone so straight forward and truthful with his comments. A few sentences and everyone knows what's what with any situation.

National League matches tend to be completed more quickly than those in Higher leagues: the riders do as they are told!

This is the press report I have seen on the 3 legs of the Farndon v Grosskreutz match race 1934 The most magnificent piece of match racing the championship has ever produced. Yes, even better than the never to be forgotten match when Jack parker won the title from Vic Huxley at Wimbledon in 1931. Farndodn eventually retained his title literally by no more than 12 inches New Cross Farndon won the toss and drew the inside position for the first race, but he drifted ever so slightly coming out of the first turn and Max crossed behind him like a flash to pass inside and take a short lead, which by record breaking riding he managed to hold to the end. Max's time was 57.6 s, which beat the existing record, held by Farndon by 1/5 s Pulling up 4 yds on the last bend to win by inches, Farndon turned the tables in the next heat and in the 3rd knocked a second off his old record and 4/5 s off Max's new to win in 56.8 s Belle Vue On his own home track, Belle Vue, the Townsville rider slid down when leading on the bend in the first heat, but gained a reprieve by winning the 2nd and 3rd heats Wembley Farndon won the toss for the inside and after 1 false start.they went away dead level. Max tried a straightforward run around and emerged from the turn leading by no ore than his front wheel: he increased his lead to 3/4 of a length up the far straight, but when he shut off for a split second to lay the bike over into the next bend, Farndon left everything turned on and catapulted his way through on the inside. Although rough the move was fair enough, but it knocked Max out of his stride and he was content to trail around 12 lengths behind By winning the first race in 75 s, Farndon knocked a 1/5 s off Ron Johnsons existing record From the inside position, Grosskreutz won the second heat in the astounding time of 74.6 s !! So the championship was to be decided on the last race of the last round. Well, considering the two men and the fact they posses perhaps the two fastest engines in the speedway game at the moment it was not surprising that the challenge would go to its utmost limit before the title could be decided Max won the toss and took the inside. This time Tom did not waste time trying to get inside at the first bend, but opened flat and stayed so, and by the end of the first lap he was 3 lengths ahead. The pace was terrific. Both men seemed to realise that there was nothing to choose between them, and both seemed to realise that the only way to win was to risk everything and remain on full throttle. And so it went on until the last lap Max was now about 5 lengths ahead, but his slide out of the bend was so terrific that he fetched up against the fence at the beginning of the far straight at an angle. For an instant the contact slowed him slightly, but it was enough for Farndon to draw level, and on the inside ! Neck and neck the pair raced up the far straight , and neck and neck they came round the last bend. Farndon on the line, appeared to be forging ahead slightly, but obviously he would have slightly less traction and speed out of the bend than Max who was running wide and giving his rival ample room. As the pair entered the straight they were just overlapping, with the Queenslander overhauling Farndon to the extent of about an inch per yard. If the finishing line had been a few yards further on, it would have been a dead heat. As it was Farndon retained his title by less than 12 inches !!!

My solution is for all the other teams fight it out for the honour of meeting Redcar Bears in the final. im a Bears fan, naturally !

Was chatting to Rusty Harrison on Facebook messenger earlier. Part of that super Comets side of 2004..Stoney Steady Kauko Aidan Wrighty Woody. Moved back to Oz 5 years ago with partner and kids. Was sad that they closed great memories. Friendly, volatile guy that always gave 100% for many clubs.

Last time I saw him do some laps I seem to remember he did 4 laps in 63secs. Only about a second or so a lap slower than todays times, and still looked as effortless as he did all those years ago.

Mildenhall & Kent especially were rediculously over priced last year, but I honestly feel £10 is a fair price for NL speedway, which is a league that only gets weaker every year!

The Greyhound Board of Great Britain release their own report stating 1,000 dogs died in a single year, including 242 put down trackside and 324 which were put down because they could not be rehomed. This is only dogs which "retire" it doesn't include those which were being trained but were not considered suitable. A report compiled for the Irish Greyhound Board concluded that on average 5,987 dogs were culled (slide 26) each year as they "failed to produce qualifying times" (2,673); "failure to produce desired entry level times" (1,989) and an "unacceptable decline in performance" (1,326). Why would the greyhound governing bodies spread such lies about their own sports?

There is no negative PR yet which is why it is important to keep it centre stage because those who matter do indeed read this forum. Nobody is making wild assumptions. The notice is clear and if they were offering/exploring alternative arrangements alongside then it should have said so or not been uploaded. They are selling season tickets on the basis of no access for disabled that hasn't been publicised so what do you expect. You sound like the typical speedway fan who takes any old crap, they'd love 1000s like you!

If (hopefully when) Rye House speedway reopen they should take the same route as they did in 2000 when they reopened at Hoddesdon by going in the 3rd tier. I haven't been back to Rye House since the mid season closure a couple of years back but surely theres enough room there to accommodate crowds of up to 2000? - Though I suspect crowds of 400-1000 would be the crowd figures in the 3rd tier on a Saturday night? In times of track closures which means less teams plus a surplus of riders who wish to ride and the BSPA hinting they want to drop the standard of the 3rd tier (something I totally disagree with cause theres already a level below the NL and if we are to produce World class British riders then they need to race at a decent level whilst learning) surely it makes sense to allow Rye House to compete in this seasons NL even if the stadium is not quite what it should be?

Let the BB in where the riders enter with a Marshall guiding vans to the pits and BB to a designated parking area. No public can walk through this point. Is it really so difficult?

Maybe it is. It was said on more than one occasion last season that certain elements of the website couldn't be updated due to technical problems. Let's face it it's long overdue for a major overhaul. For example, the "blog" is 18 month old, riders BSPA averages are last season's starting averages. And the "badge links" to other teams in the league are years out of date. Plymouth are still there (as is Workington) and they dropped down years ago .

Not a good experience for the user IMO. All things Newcastle, be it Diamonds, Gems or Sapphires, should all be on the same website with different Tabs or contained in a Drop-down. Add to that the potential extra cost of two or three websites, to the site hosts, is silly.

The difference is Rowe will not be under any pressure at Swindon he is a longterm project and the club will support him.Also he is a lad who is ambitious being in the top five in the Championship is hard and it is bloody annoying Cook gets a free card at reserve that rule has to change.

Point taken but the there is the other side of the arguement and young Kyle Bickley is the example.At Worky he was struggling really badly but the club were superb they could see the bigger picture and the young lad showed real character and guts to come through.Ok his development has not been overwhelming but there is a good rider in there and for me Palin is one of the best young stylists i have seen in a longtime.I would love to see him develope nicely and as another post says have a rule that keeps these sort of rider's at reserve for at least two years.I would love to see him race for the Aces ( and Connor Bailey) in the future full time when they are good anough the track suits them and both would be fine at the NSS.Also this year if you were ever going to bring a youngster in at reserve this would be the year with the likes of Bickley,Stoneman. Gilkes, Ledwith, Thomas, Thompson (2) Bailey,Flint ( etc).Also by all accounts Jordan has done a few laps around Scunny and he should also be able to practice there in the year at home i can see him holding his own.

With a confirmed 41 point limit leaving 6.99 to play with I now cannot see beyond Aarnio ? Thing is he is a Scunny asset and a scorer home and away. I think Robs looking at "track specialists" to hopefully defend the EWR. Then looking for them to gel at least some of the time on their travels. Certainly Tommy and Tero have it in their locker to get big numbers. Bit will depend on fitness ? Tommy and Danny coming back from injury. We need to get condistancy from Jake and better from Josh away from home for sure. Jordan Palin needs some support in his debut season and Simon Lambert gives that. I can see that Stefan Nielsen also offers that. But Lamberts heavy scoring from reserve v Nielsens battle against injury and inconsistancy from that edges it for Lambert. All in all with a 41 point limit a team with Scunthorpe in its DNA on 40.85 should please "the homers" and gurantee more great action at the EWR in 2020. We might not win the league but we can certainly give it our best shot !

Rough Park for me is the worse shaped track in the league and that's why Tommy struggled ,he will be fine on the open spaces at the EWR

Honestly I don't think so... this Scunny team will take some beating at home first off, they will pick up the odd spare point away from home and if the play offs include the top six teams rather than the top 4 then this strength in depth Scunny team will do well IMHO... Could be a surprise package... Deffo top six for me with a chance of a top 4 slot... Regards THJ
