  1. Honestly Geoff, just STFU you are getting worse and im embarrassed to be associated with you at belle vue whats strange is your actually a decent guy so not sure what makes you turn into a right little weasle on a forum. can you remember the last time we won a league trophy........... 1993, yes 1993 so we are the last bunch of fans that should be revelling in another clubs troubles so pipe down and become the man you are that we see at the track

  2. To be fair IS were clubs not going to stick with (and stand by) the riders they had (if they could) and each club was to honour the rider places once the pandemic restrictions were lifted so if Jake can now race in the UK surely Scunny must have the first options on his services... it would be hard on Josh Macdonald but it is a two way street... is it to much to expect a little bit of loyalty from riders surely considering every thing we have been through over the last 18 months or has he been made an offer elsewhere he cant refuse.... if he couldn't do Scunny in the UK he maybe shouldn't be allowed to start for anyone else... I appreciate circumstances change but as the season hasn't started yet there may be an argument... or maybe not... I'm sure there will be an opinion or two on the matter for sure... Regards THJ

  3. If I didn't know better I'd think you two separate posters are celebrating in another clubs problems.

  4. Honestly Treat this year as it is... bit of a non-entity... after what we have been through with this Covid carry on just enjoy that you; your club and the sport is still standing... I know several people who would be happy watching any team than where they are now... You will still see some exciting and entertaining meetings at the EWR that's for sure... Regards THJ

  6. King's Lynn have done well not to put up admission prices too much in recent times i think.Pretty sure it was £17 for adults in 2015.So as of now that is only a £1 increase in 5 years.Whether you think the sport is more inferior now or not that has been a very low increase over 5 years.

  7. Whilst the money does have to come from somewhere why does it always have to be found by adding onto the admission price? Those antics are always a gamble as it can just as easily put people off from going. Take 1000 fans for example you could easily argue that 100 people would be put off by another price hike. That 100 missing paying £18 is the same as the other 900 paying £2 more except that you have 100 fans staying away.

  10. I think the threat of a ban (and hence a rider losing the chance to ride in the NL, Championship or Premiership) is more likely to be the action to be taken. My suspicion is that Isle of Wight could launch a legal challenge to such an action (even though they are not directly affected in terms of earnings) using restraint of trade because of the effect on their business. Clearly, it would be designed to suppress competition. I really hope you are right about the BSPL but experience suggests they can be vindictive to those who cross them (even if their selfishness and stupidity has been the cause of a dispute). We haven't had a direct challenge like this for years so it will be interesting to see just how they react. Very difficult to argue with your final point. You would think the BSPA would have better things to do than picking a fight with the Warriors but then failing to focus on important issues rather than trivia has often been one of their faults. The fact that a person is part time, low earnings in my view does not affect restraint of trade. The fact of the matter remains that an employer would be attempting to stop them working and receiving pay from an alternative source, and that is the very essence of why this piece of common law exists.

  11. Thank You for clearing that up Mrs Widman, So do you think that his mind may be changed about 2021 if it was at his local club ? ( Maybe he could do a double signing and ride for the Cubs and supply the burgers & sausages that currently taste like cardboard)

  12. Lol -PMSL But you have sparked a definite interest... If you can find two mopeds reinforced and strong enough to lug two fat old farts like me and RG round the track then I'm in... might have more luck with two mobility scooters... they are greener... But on a serious note not a bad idea... and I am deffo in... Regards THJ Oh and two wide load signs for across our backs...

  15. I always felt the tipping point for speedway, was when it went up to over a pound a race.

  16. Mine was on the mat at 0500 when I got up, that's three weeks on the trot with no problems now after issues arising during the first three weeks, I suppose there's always glitches with a new service, the service at present is faultless to be fair, hope it's the norm going forward, magazine is always a great read, what a job the team have done during lock down

  17. I doubt the Welsh Government pay for the GP to be held there. They are one of the sponsors, for sure, but that’s not the same thing

  22. Totally agree. I am sure people won’t be happy with any price increase.

  23. Absolute madness if any price increase with a much weaker product yet again - if any thing a decrease would do more to attract fans

  24. So, suppose everyone gets there early?

  25. People, quite simply, have to be sensible. If they want to stand in "their usual spot", then get there early, otherwise they may have to stand "where they can".

  28. I would think that given the plans the IOW have for the season they will need maybe a pool of 35 or so riders to allow their team and the visiting teams to remain 'fresh', and not have the same lads riding each time... And around 15 or so of these lads will be around NL heat leader level if their points limit is used... These 15 lads alone could easily be filling 30 spaces in the 2nd and 3rd tiers, so 'if' (and for me it is unlikely, but as you allude to, "you never know with the BSPL"), any bans are threatened, they could easily stand together and say "we are doing it", and they would have to be given permission I would suggest given their huge collective impact to the two leagues mentioned.. Getting competitive teams out every meeting during the pandemic will be enough of a challenge to the three leagues I would imagine, so any ban threat (particularly to the level of rider that is so fundamental to two leagues), would hardly be made coming from any position of strength.. Hopefully the IOW can just get on with the task of providing 'Shale Sport' entertainment, in their customary pro active style, without any nonsense getting in the way...

  32. Keeping your name 'out there' is so important, especially during any "down time", or during the close season.. Amazing how many times a message, if regularly delivered, can positively enter into the subconscious, and get "dragged up" later, to the benefit of the messenger... Obtaining Emails, Mobile Numbers, having Facebook and Whatsaap groups etc etc etc are all vital nowadays in communicating with your customers.. And doesnt cost much either.. Knowing birthday dates to send cards, especially to the kids, having home addresses to send Xmas cards, and even things like having wedding anniversary details, are all ways of building that emotional loyalty, which results more often than not in repeat purchases.. Some clubs seem to do a good job on these clear golden opportunities, none more so than the IOW.. Let's hope they get another chance to do it...

  33. What about specialist cleaning services to be employed, the money as to come from somewhere. I would have thought fans would be glad to watch live speedway. Hotel booked for the 17th
