  1. Iversen, Holder, Tungate, Basso and Richie Worrall is a very strong top 5 for me. Jenkins if he continues where he left off has the potential to be one of, if not the best rising star. That leaves Ben Cook who I haven't seen a bad word said about him

  2. Ipswich is a small club compared to Peterborough. When was the last time Ipswich won the league title?

  3. Latest set of photos on Facebook look fantastic it's going to be a wonderful place to watch the racing

  4. I'm advised that the 'BabelFish translator' converts the Russian word 'Sayfutdinov' into the English word 'Tungate'. Does this help the conundrum?
    3 points
  5. Or maybe too expensive for what he is. Maybe you can get Emil or Nicki for similar money for what Tungate is asking for?

  6. The true facts are as follows Nobody knows for sure

  7. Depends what you’re looking for as a fan. Would you rather pay your money and watch Emil? Or would you rather watch a Worrall/Cook combo (with all due respect to them) that would probably fetch more points? I’m with you I think I’d probably go for the strongest looking duo which gives the best chance of success. But I’ll bet there’s plenty who’d rather go for the Emil option even if that means looking weaker overall.

  8. I just wonder how many more times this will have to be pointed out to people!

  10. If Peterborough get the rider's suggested the averages don't really matter as they'd have the quality throughout. Ipswich on the other hand would be dead, even with Sayfutdinov & Doyle as a top 2

  11. Any reason why you keep quoting and answering yourself??

  12. so would be a no to Hume because he needs to be at no.6 Rew needs time at no.6 to learn the tracks etc. so really for me Hume can't be an option

  13. I agree with you, only problem is he will be in a Witches race suit.
    2 points
  14. Well if he’s not in because he’s too expensive you can forget any thoughts of Emil or Nicki Pedersen!

  15. Robert Lambert and Ben Barker. There you go, easy

  16. I had pleasure of meeting Emil in the services on M4 coming back from Cardiff around 10 years ago. He stopped what he was doing and took time to speak to us and posed for pictures. He really is one top guy and would be brilliant to see him here. He surely should have won World Championship a number of times by now and a true World class rider. i live 2 hours from the Showground but would have to make the trip to see him. Hope the rumours are true. Would be amazing to see him round the showground and will dominate as did Crumpy and Sully back in the day.

  17. The delay all makes perfect sense now. Ipswich have to wait until Peterborough sort their team first so they can then use whatever riders Peterborough decide they don’t want.

  18. Very true lewy freedom of speech and all that.if we all had the same opinion the world would be a boring place.

  19. No,,, Hume will start season on his above 4 average,,, his 25% is only for team building. So many people don't seem to be getting this
    1 point
  20. Yeah you’re right. Could you in theory pull a fast one and use this 25% discount to strengthen pretty quickly? Signs on a 3 for team building purposes using the 25% and then replace with a rider using his real average when the season starts. Pretty shi tty way to treat someone though and I’m pretty sure Louis wouldn’t do that. Only Poole would stoop that low

  21. He raced in the 1st division for league winners Krosno last season. Did 7 matches for a 6.97 average, which was around the same as Berge and Becker had in that league.

  22. So yourself and many Ipswich fans are happy to throw Danyon Hume under the bus saddled with all the pressure of you all thinking he aint good enough, but think its unfair if an Australian has too much pressure.

  23. Zero issues in signed Richie Worrall at 2 even on a 6.13 average.

  24. I'm going by Iversen, Holder, Tungate. No Tungate & Andersen in, would be horrific. Don't believe Andersen will deliver, even as a No6
    1 point
  25. Craig Cook for starters

  26. Even more bonkers if there were other better riders left that didn't have a team place who's averages fitted

  31. Absolutely. Never crossed my mind.. Although running the sport in a Mickey Mouse way, eg running meetings knowing several of the "draw cards" will be elsewhere, like so many have done over the last couple of decades as the UK power base eroded and overseas leagues took priority, will certainly have contributed to the demise of a fair few tracks I would suggest, as fans became disillusioned by what they were being served up.. As obviously everyone would... And no reason not to if the clubs plan in their seasons well and dont shoot themselves in the foot by running meetings knowing riders will be missing. (Like happens far far too often).. And no excuse either this year given so few home meetings to plan in for each team.. Could be a potentially decent season for UK Speedway in 2023, with a good few Polish top league riders over here, meaning the Premiership can be pushed and marketed more, so even more important its infrastructure backs up that increase in quality...

  34. I honestly think Emil could finish top of the averages. He will be unbeatable around the Showground.

  35. John and Chris Louis have steered the ship since 1989 and run the club as their sole business and not as a play thing or a tax dodge. much rather have them than a mick Horton thank you very much.

  36. Well we’ll soon find out if your new man is the real deal or simply full of sh!t.
    1 point
  37. That’s a fair point. Value for money plays a part. Maybe Tungate is considered “too expensive” for what he brings, whereas they’d pay more for someone else who’d bring a better return for their money.

  38. But looking at teams thts built it doesn't really make much difference, would any of teams tht is built swap there no1s for any of the commonwealth riders available I'd say probably not.

  39. You have missed their point of view. They won't be happy until birmingham have been driven into the ground and closed down so that they can come on here and say they told you so.

  40. Yeah was pretty crazy that a rider pulls out of a race injured and then you bring in a rider as a TS. Never get away with it now!
    1 point
  41. But that is exactly what the delay was/is, of that I now have no doubt. Doesn’t mean he’ll sign of course!
    1 point
  42. I don't mean it in a my club is bigger than yours kind of way lol. What I mean is this. Ipswich probably have verbal agreements in place with a couple of riders ranging from second string to heat leaders but they can't actually offer one of them a contract to sign as it stands until they know how many points they'll have left to use on the final rider. That's the only other reason I can think of as to why the delay has been so lengthy at Ipswich if it's nothing to do with Emil.

  44. The only way to complete the Jubilee League would be using last year's teams, so the riders who qualified for the final, race in the final! If you allow guests to strengthen Poole / weaken Leicester then it can surely only be a challenge match?

  45. He rode for the Bees once at the Showground, he flew around the track. I spoke to Emil after the meeting and he said it was his favourite track in the UK.

  47. Not a great start to the year when supporters are already hoping they get a good guest for a rider riding elsewhere
